Circle has made its involvement in the Hyperliquid ecosystem, launching native USDC on the HyperEVM network and announcing a strategic investment in HYPE tokens. This expansion is designed to enhance liquidity, interoperability, and capital efficiency for developers and traders on the platform. Circle is now also a direct stakeholder in the Hyperliquid ecosystem.
The core of this collaboration is the integration of native USDC and Circle’s Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTPv2) on HyperEVM. This will allow users to move their digital dollars seamlessly across various blockchains without relying on third-party systems, which often introduce friction and potential risks.
Circle emphasized that this direct integration brings the full weight of USDC’s global liquidity and network utility built over nearly a decade to Hyperliquid. In the coming weeks, Hyperliquid users will also gain direct deposit and CCTP interoperability for Hyperliquid USDC via HyperCore.
Circle has long worked to build both primary liquidity through regulated institutional infrastructure and banking partnerships worldwide, as well as secondary liquidity on major exchanges. By bringing deep liquidity to Hyperliquid, the company aims to improve capital efficiency, which is crucial for a high-performance trading platform. This move also makes it easier for fintechs, on and off-ramp providers, and other financial institutions to integrate with Hyperliquid.
Strategic Investment and Community Engagement
The company has confirmed its first investment in HYPE tokens. This investment is described as a “mutual win-win” and is the start of a broader program to work with the community.
Circle also plans to launch dedicated incentive programs for developers building on HIP-3 and HyperEVM.
Circle is also evaluating the possibility of becoming a Hyperliquid Validator. Circle has stated that its public SDKs and APIs are ready for developers who want to build with USDC support on Hyperliquid. The move is positioned to benefit both Hyperliquid’s growing user base and Circle’s mission to expand the utility of USDC.
Users can now access native USDC on HyperEVM, and the integration has already begun. Hyperswap is one the the first projects to let its users trade using USDC and provide liquidity on HyperEVM chain. The collaboration is positioned to benefit both Hyperliquid’s growing user base and Circle’s mission to expand the utility and adoption of USDC.
