Sec Considers Rule Change For Bitcoin Options Trading

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has spent recent time on consideration of a regulation that allows options trading on Bitcoin ETFs. The SEC is seeking the public’s comment on this matter, and the interested parties have till May 15 to submit their comments.

This is the recent outcome of the longstanding struggle around the approval of Bitcoin ETFs between the regulators and the crypto-currency firms. The regulator has already green-lighted the spot Bitcoin ETF, but it is yet to decide as regards the options for the ETF product trading.

Options trading supporters are stating that it would bring up an additional source of security as well as protection suites. From the point of view of the competitors, such a measure may worsen volatility in the Bitcoin market.
