The world’s largest asset management firm, Blackrock, is back to buying Bitcoins for its ETF. The firm has recently purchased 432 BTC through its iShares Bitcoin ETF. For a while now, rumors’ of BlackRock selling BTC were circulating, with this purchase hopefully they will sop spreading.
Lookonchain reported this bitcoin was purchased for $38.9 million at $90,046 per BTC. The latest addition brought BlackRock’s total Bitcoin holdings to 572,658 BTC, valued at approximately $51.57 billion.

In December, the company bought $1 billion worth of Bitcoin within just 48 hours and may have bought 9,695 BTC, as at that time BTC price was $103,187.94.
Lookonchain also noted Bitcoin ETFs saw a +80 BTC ($7.22M) net inflow, led by BlackRock, reflecting rising institutional confidence. Ethereum ETFs recorded +9,121 ETH ($20.57M) inflows, with Grayscale’s ETHE adding 4,922 ETH ($11.1M) to its 1.27M ETH ($2.86B) holdings
Similarly, MicroStrategy acquired 7,633 BTC between February 3-9, 2025, for $742.4 million at an average price of $97,255 per BTC. This brings its total holdings to 478,740 BTC, purchased for $31.1 billion at an average cost of $65,033 per BTC.
