Trump Announces U.s. Crypto Reserve With Xrp, Ada, Sol

On Sunday, March 2, 2025, President Donald Trump laid out his vision for a U.S. Crypto Reserve, naming XRP, Solana (SOL), and Cardano as chosen cryptocurrencies initially, and later added Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) to the list, claiming that he “loves them”.

Trump shared this update on Truth Social, giving the public its first clear look at what this reserve might involve.

In his post, Trump wrote, “A U.S. Crypto Reserve will elevate this critical industry after years of corrupt attacks by the Biden Administration, which is why my Executive Order on Digital Assets directed the Presidential Working Group to move forward on a Crypto Strategic Reserve that includes XRP, SOL, and ADA.” He followed with, “I will make sure the U.S. is the Crypto Capital of the World. We are MAKING AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Trump’s announcement ties to an Executive Order he signed in January 2025, asking the Presidential Working Group to study a crypto reserve, though it didn’t lock in the decision to create one. Trump had made this a talking point plenty of times while campaigning in 2024.

Trump’s next big step comes on March 8, 2025, when he’ll host a first-of-its-kind crypto summit at the White House. This event will put his support for digital assets front and center. Big names from top crypto companies will join folks from the President’s Working Group on Digital Assets.

David Sacks, a venture capitalist picked as crypto czar, will lead the event, with Bo Hines, the Working Group’s executive director, keeping things organized. Trump’s showing up will hammer home his push to strengthen America’s role in the digital asset game.

On another front, the TRUMP Organization filed a trademark for “TRUMP” on February 24, 2025, with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. It’s a sign of new projects in the works, like a virtual world where people could snag TRUMP-branded gear or check out a TRUMP restaurant online in the metaverse.

Through all this, President Trump is carving out a path for digital assets, aiming to put the United States at the head of the pack in the crypto race.
