Ecstatic at the swearing-in ceremony of 47th U.S. President Donald Trump, his close associate, tech mogul and X CEO Elon Musk claimed in his address that he is going to take “DOGE to Mars”, after adding that Trump’s inaugural ceremony “feels like victory.” Musk’s cryptic comment about taking Doge to Mars is a reference to three things- the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) initiative, Dogecoin memecoin and the Space X Mars mission.
Thank you, My heart goes out here, it is thanks to you ( the voter ) that the future of civilization is assured, Thanks to you we’re Gonna have safe cities, Finally, Safe cities, Secure borders Sensible spending, Basic stuff, And we gonna take DOGE to Mars, I mean can you imagine,” said Musk at the inaugural ceremony.
Musk was among the several high profile tech leaders invited for the swearing ceremony at Washington DC on Monday that included Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg, OpenAI’s Sam Altman, Amazon’s Jeff Bezos and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy. Musk has been instrumental in campaigning for Trump in 2024 whether it be gathering support from crypto community or through his X social media posts’ engagement.
During his inaugural speech, Donald Trump acknowledged the attempts made by Musk to campaign for him and reiterated his promise of setting up DOGE under Musk and Ramaswamy.
“The American dream will soon be back and thriving like never before to restore competence and effectiveness to our federal government. My administration will establish the brand new Department of Government Efficiency,” said Trump.
D.O.G.E, Dogecoin and SpaceX : Elon Musk’s multiverse
Elon Musk has been a vocal promoter of Dogecoin memecoin on social media, often leading to a massive surge in its price, much to the happiness of the crypto investors. Elon has also been sued by investors on allegations of manipulating dogecoin price however he has won the lawsuit against him recently. At the time of writing this report, Dogecoin was valued at $0.34 with a fall of 8% in last 24 hours.
Moreover, Elon and Vivek Ramaswamy had come up with the concept of setting up D.O.G.E. in American bureaucracy to wed out inefficiency, excessive spending and corruption from other departments of the federal government. The name D.O.G.E is then again a word play on memes and crypto world. In many instances, the price of dogecoin has surged after major announcements were made related to D.O.G.E.
Elon’s ‘SpaceX’ company has a clear objective of “Mission Mars” wherein they intend to launch a human space flight and eventually set up a self sufficient human colony on Mars planet in near future. Similar statement was made even by Trump who reiterated “we will pursue our manifest destiny into the stars, launching American astronauts to plant the stars and stripes on the planet Mars.“
Musk’s comments made during Trump inauguration and Trump’s backing on D.O.G.E and Mission Mars show that 2025 is going to be a crucial year for USA especially when it comes to crypto sector, bureaucracy and space sciences.
