Ahead of the much awaited oath ceremony of U.S. president elect Donald Trump and subsequent launch of Department of Government Efficiency (D.O.G.E.), Senator Joni Ernst offered a rare glimpse into the work purview of D.O.G.E. and how it can save $2 Trillion USD of American tax payers’ money. Trump intends to launch D.O.G.E. under tech mogul Elon Musk and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy.

Senator Ernst took to ‘X’ to present some of her suggestions about how Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy the leaders of D.O.G.E. can eliminate more than $2 trillion of tax payers’ “waste” in Washington in the future. Ernst is also known for her screech awards that target wasteful spending by government officials.

In her tweet, Senator Ernst shared a list of 22 areas associated with governance where D.O.G.E. can cut down $1 trillion expenditure through efficient planning and execution. Some of those key areas suggested by Senator Ernst were scrapping off “ghost workers” where U.S. government was found spending $15.7 Billion on under utilized buildings. Similarly, Ernst claimed that 150,000 federal employees owe $1.5 billion in back taxes to U.S. government.

Ernst has also criticized associated workers, whom she believes are insulting remote work policies. She has also mentioned that U.S. President Biden has spent $7.5 billion to build 17 EV charging stations and $42 billion to expand rural broadband but has connected zero people to the internet. Ernst also claimed that the three trains in California are costing $144 billion taxpayers to build which should be stopped.

She has also mentioned in her tweet that Elon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy, and she will be hard at work putting waste on the cutting block and carving up Washington’s distended budget.
