Beeple Buys A Crypto Punk Nft, His First Pfp Purchase

The artist who sold the most expensive NFT ever, Beeple, has bought NFT from the Crypto Punk collection. He said that it’s his first PFP purchase.

Beeple said, “the fact that this ridiculously innovative artwork was given away years ago and at the time almost nobody cared, but that this idea then eventually spawned an entire asset class, to me is just beyond comprehension.”

Previously he posted a couple of tweets sharing his interest in buying a Crypto Punk NFT and asked his followers for tips. On Tuesday, Beeple shared a Punk related original artwork containing the picture of Punk #4593 citing ‘A PUNK IS BORN.’

He paid a sum of 113.69 ETH or approximately $208k to purchase this NFT, according to the transaction data from Etherscan. With this, the Crypto Punk #4593 became the most expensive NFT sold in the last 24 hours.

Beeple’s ‘Everydays – The First 5000 Days’ was the most expensive NFT ever sold for $69.3 million in March 2021. Since then, Beeple has become a very popular artist among the digital art and crypto community.
