KuCoin Web3 Wallet Adds Intent-Based Swaps and Limit Orders

Key Highlights

  • KuCoin Web3 Wallet adds intent-based swaps and limit orders through UniswapX, PancakeSwapX and 1inch.
  • Users can set target prices for trades and make swaps directly from the same self-custodial wallet without switching between DApps.
  • The upgrade expands trading options for crypto and tokenized assets, while offering features such as gasless swaps, wider liquidity access and MEV protection.

KuCoin Web3 Wallet, a decentralized wallet created by KuCoin crypto exchange, announced that it added intent-based swaps and limit orders to its self-custodial wallet, giving users more ways to trade without leaving the platform.

According to the announcement shared with The Crypto Times on September 2, the upgrade connects the wallet with UniswapX, PancakeSwapX and 1inch to support crypto and eligible tokenized real-world assets (RWAs).

This means users can now choose between making a trade immediately or setting the price they want before a trade happens. Instead of opening different decentralized applications (DApps) for different types of orders, both options are available through the same wallet interface.

How intent-based swaps work

For intent-based swaps, users do not have to decide every step of how a trade should be completed.

They tell the system what result they want, while third-party fillers or solvers compete to complete the transaction. In simple terms, a user can state the trade they want and let the system look for a way to carry it out.

KuCoin said the result can vary depending on the asset, network and available route. Eligible trades may gain access to more liquidity and competitive quotes. Some swaps can also use gas-abstracted execution, which can reduce the need for users to deal with gas in the usual way.

The integrations also bring protection against certain MEV-related trading problems. These include front-running, where another transaction gets placed ahead of a user’s trade, and sandwich attacks, where a trade is placed before and after a user’s transaction to take advantage of its price impact.

Users can set their target prices

The second major addition is limit orders, powered by 1inch. With this feature, users can set the price they want for an asset and choose how long the order should remain active. This means they do not have to keep checking the market while waiting for their preferred price.

These orders are cryptographically signed and stay offchain until they are filled. Once filled, the trade can be completed under the conditions set by the user. Immediate market swaps and limit orders can now be accessed from the same wallet.

More options for tokenized assets

The upgrade also gives eligible tokenized assets more trading options. These include assets linked to stocks, ETFs and other supported RWAs.

However, access is not the same for every user or asset, as it depends on issuer rules, user eligibility, network support, market availability and liquidity.

KuCoin expands its Web3 wallet

The latest move follows several changes KuCoin has made to its Web3 Wallet this year. In late April, the company integrated Ondo Finance’s Ondo Global Markets, allowing users to access more than 260 tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs through the self-custodial wallet.

A few days later on May 7, the exchange added the 1inch Swap API. That integration brought gasless swaps and MEV protection to crypto and tokenized RWA trades, while also giving the wallet access to aggregated liquidity.

With the latest additions, KuCoin is putting more trading choices inside one self-custodial wallet. Users can now make market swaps, set target prices and access different trading routes while keeping their assets in the wallet.
