Key Highlights
- KuCoin integrated Ondo Global Markets, giving users access to over 260 tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs.
- Users can trade tokenized equities like Apple, Tesla, Nvidia, and ETFs tied to gold, silver, and the Nasdaq without a traditional brokerage account.
- This follows a trend of wallets evolving into full financial platforms, combining crypto and real-world assets onchain.
Crypto exchange KuCoin today announced that its Web3 Wallet has integrated Ondo Finance’s Ondo Global Markets. This means users worldwide can access over 260 tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs directly inside the wallet, using a self-custody setup that removes the need for a traditional broker.
According to the official release, users can now access tokenized versions of companies like Nvidia, Apple, Tesla, Microsoft, and Amazon, along with ETFs linked to gold, silver, and the Nasdaq.
These assets are available within the wallet interface, so users do not need to open or manage a separate brokerage account. The feature works on Ethereum and BNB Chain, and trading usually follows a 24/5 schedule, similar to U.S. market hours.
Tokenized stocks now inside the wallet
KuCoin said the integration pushes its wallet beyond just crypto-native trading. Before now, the wallet supported crypto storage, swaps, and in-wallet perpetual trading. Now, users can hold both crypto and stock-linked assets in one place.
Gas Meng, Lead of KuCoin Web3 Wallet Operation, commented on the development, stating, “This integration reflects our broader view of what a wallet should become: not only a tool for custody and connectivity, but a trusted access point to a wider range of on-chain financial opportunities.”
He added that the goal is to give users a simple way to access both crypto and traditional finance-linked assets side by side.
From Ondo’s side, Min Lin, Managing Director of Global Business Development at Ondo Finance, said, “With over 260 tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs now accessible directly in KuCoin’s Web3 Wallet, millions of crypto-native users can expand their onchain portfolio to include the same equities they’d find on traditional brokerages.” He added that what once required a brokerage account is now available within a crypto wallet.
Ondo’s role in the system
Ondo Global Markets acts as the layer that issues and manages these tokenized securities. It allows users to gain economic exposure to publicly traded stocks and ETFs through blockchain-based tokens that can be held and transferred onchain.
These tokens follow the price of the actual assets, giving users exposure to them. However, they do not give direct ownership or voting rights in the companies.
The move follows a wider trend in the crypto space, where wallets are becoming full financial tools rather than just storage platforms. Other wallets, including MetaMask and Trust Wallet, have also integrated Ondo’s platform, showing growing demand for tokenized real-world assets.
