In a latest development within the blockchain industry, Avalanche has officially gone live on ZetaChain, the world’s first Universal Blockchain ecosystem.
This integration marks a significant step toward blockchain interoperability while enabling over 1.4 million Avalanche users to access Universal dApps that operate natively across major blockchains like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and others.
The announcement was officially shared by Zetachain on their X handle, citing that blockchain developers can now “build once and reach every major chain, natively — BTC, ETH, SOL, and now AVAX — all from a single contract.”
ZetaChain’s Universal Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) allows developers to deploy a single smart contract that can interact seamlessly with multiple chains, eliminating the need for bridges or wrappers, which are often fraught with security risks and operational complexities.
According to ZetaChain, this novel development cut deployment times from weeks to minutes, streamlining the development process for Web3 builders. “One smart contract connects you to every major blockchain, including Bitcoin,” ZetaChain stated, highlighting the platform’s ability to unify liquidity and enhance user experience across disparate networks.
Avalanche, renowned for its high-throughput and near-instant transaction finality, brings significant value to this partnership. The platform, which processes transactions in under one second, has been a go-to choice for DeFi applications due to its scalability and eco-friendly design, as noted on its official site.
With over 1.4 million users now able to leverage ZetaChain’s infrastructure, the integration opens up new avenues for cross-chain DeFi, NFT composability, and other decentralized innovations.
