Pi Network introduces 20 Apps ahead of Mainnet launch in 2025

Pi Network, a rapidly growing blockchain platform, has announced a major development in preparation for its Open Network launch scheduled for Q1 2025. The team has made Mainnet Pi apps accessible through the Ecosystem Interface in the Pi Browser.

Currently, the interface includes 20 initial Pi apps, with plans to add more over time. This interface now makes Mainnet Pi apps accessible to Pioneers, empowering them with real-world utilities and opportunities to transact using Pi.

This new feature makes Mainnet Pi apps accessible to Pioneers, marking a significant step in the platform’s development.

The first group of 20 apps enable real Pi transactions for goods and services, marking a departure from the previously available Testnet apps. The Testnet environment allowed developers to test and refine their applications, paving the way for this major update.

These apps are part of Pi Network’s broader vision to create a robust, decentralized ecosystem powered by its community. The platform emphasized that the list of apps will continue to grow as more developers build and refine their offerings within the Pi ecosystem.

The introduction of Mainnet apps signifies a turning point for the Pi Network ecosystem. For the first time, Pioneers can directly engage with Mainnet apps where real Pi is exchanged, adding tangible utility to the cryptocurrency. This launch is an essential milestone in Pi Network’s roadmap to create a robust decentralized ecosystem and prepare for its Open Network phase.

To date, the Ecosystem Interface served as a space for testing and development. Now, by expanding to include Mainnet apps, Pi Network has opened the doors for developers to showcase fully operational apps and for Pioneers to experience real-world applications of the network’s blockchain.

In addition to encouraging Pioneers to test these apps, Pi Network has called on developers to enhance their Pi-based applications. Developers are invited to submit their projects for inclusion in the Ecosystem Interface through the Pi Dev Portal, providing them an opportunity to reach the network’s extensive user base.

However, Pi Network has advised users to exercise caution when using these applications. Since the apps are independently developed and not officially endorsed or monitored by Pi Network, users should interact with them at their own risk.

This update comes as the Pi Network gears up for its much-anticipated Open Network launch, a move that is expected to bring full blockchain functionality to its millions of users worldwide. The inclusion of Mainnet Pi apps is seen as a step toward expanding the platform’s utility, driving adoption, and fostering an active developer community.

Pioneers can access the Mainnet apps and learn more about the development roadmap through the Pi app home screen or the Pi Browser.
