BitPay, the cryptocurrency payment application, announced that Taylor Swift fans who are willing to purchase tickets for the film “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” can now use the platform.
BitPay announced in a Friday post on X that it will handle the movie’s crypto tie-in. Movie tickets can be acquired in multiple digital currencies, including XRP, Shiba Inu (SHIB), Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), and many more.
BitPay explained that those who would like to benefit from the latest offering should go to the official AMC website and choose their favorite pop star concert. Subsequently, they will have the opportunity to select their mode of payment, among which is cryptocurrency.
In the past, Bitpay and AMC partnered to allow easy cryptocurrency payments for movie tickets. AMC played an important role in the “Eras” film’s journey, making a groundbreaking move by negotiating directly with Taylor Swift for the film’s release in its theaters.
Because of this, Swift is expected to earn an astounding 57% of ticket sales revenue, a sizeable portion that is uncommon in the entertainment sector. A blockbuster premiere is anticipated for the film, which has racked up an astounding $100 million in presales.
