Louisville Athletics, an intercollegiate sports program representing the University of Louisville, announced a multi-year partnership with Ripple on Tuesday, bringing XRP branding to Louisville Basketball beginning this season.

According to the official announcement, the XRP logo will appear as a permanent fixture on Denny Crum Court for every Louisville home game. Coach Denny Crum’s insignia will remain in place on the playing surface inside the three-point arc.

XRP logos will also feature on TV-visible courtside signage and additional in-venue branding and promotions at the KFC Yum! Center. The partnership extends to Louisville’s digital and social platforms as well as men’s and women’s basketball radio broadcasts.

Ripple will support financial and technology education for University of Louisville student-athletes and the campus community, covering both traditional finance and digital assets.

Details of the agreement

The partnership places XRP branding across Louisville men’s and women’s basketball programs. In addition to the court marking, the arrangement includes courtside signage visible during broadcasts and further promotional placements inside the arena. Digital platforms and radio broadcasts associated with the basketball programs will also carry the branding.

As part of the deal, Ripple will provide educational programming focused on financial and technology topics. The sessions are intended for University of Louisville student-athletes and the broader campus community. The content will address both conventional financial systems and digital assets.

The multi-year term of the agreement was confirmed in the announcement, though specific duration beyond the initial season was not detailed in the public statement.

The university’s basketball programs will incorporate the new branding elements as outlined while retaining the existing court designation tied to Coach Crum.

Context of sports and crypto partnerships

The Louisville-Ripple agreement follows several earlier collaborations between sports organizations and companies in the cryptocurrency sector.

On June 26, Kalshi was reported by The New York Times DealBook to be preparing an announcement of official partner status with FIFA. The arrangement was described as providing branding visibility during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, including advertisements near the pitch and exposure on television and digital broadcasts. The tournament is scheduled to take place across the United States, Canada, and Mexico with an expanded 48-team field.

In July 2023, OKX became the official sleeve partner for Manchester City. Reports at the time indicated a multi-year deal valued at more than $70 million over three years. The OKX logo has appeared on the left sleeve of both the men’s and women’s first-team kits. Manchester City later extended the partnership.

In December 2024, Crypto.com and Formula 1 announced an extension of their existing partnership through 2030. The original agreement began in 2021. Crypto.com has stated that its user base grew substantially during the period of the collaboration.
