Maestro disabled Auto Snipe for $LAPTOP on Base hours before the token’s September 9 launch. The bot had already queued hundreds of wallets. A market analyst then warned retail snipers that public tools would not compete with private execution.
A Maestro announcement circulated in Telegram said Auto Snipe would be temporarily unavailable on Base for the $LAPTOP launch. Existing setups were cancelled and would not execute. The notice said the change was made “to protect our users against scam tokens and pools.” Users were told they could still buy manually once trading went live or set limit orders.
Auto Snipe is Maestro’s automated launch buyer. Base, the Coinbase incubated blockchain, has no public mempool. The bot watches mined transactions and then sends configured buys. Turning that feature off removed one of the most widely used public entry paths for the launch.
The official contract listed on the project site is 0xB095…ec29 on Base. The site identifies $LAPTOP as an ERC-20 memecoin with a fixed supply of 1 billion tokens.
Hunter Biden first posted the ticker and date on X: “$LAPTOP September 9.” In a later post, he said 20% of the supply would go to community airdrops, including wallets that lost money on $TRUMP, and that 30% was tied to public outcomes that would either burn tokens or send them to charity.

Analyst Warning: Public Snipers Face Steep Odds
MCM, a market analyst at Fundex posting as MidCurveMortal, quoted the Maestro disablement and warned traders not to snipe $LAPTOP. “You have better odds hitting a 1000x multiplier on a rainbet roulette than making even $100 sniping this token,” the post said. It added that tools used by insiders would be “WAY more advanced than anything that is publicly available” and concluded, “You WILL lose money.”
That warning tracks with the project’s own language. The official site describes $LAPTOP as a memecoin “created for entertainment and community participation purposes” that “does not represent or confer any equity, ownership, or other economic interest.”
Hunter Biden wrote on X that people “should not expect me or anyone else to make this token more valuable for you.”
Memecoins have no cash flow and no claim on assets. Launch prices depend on attention, pool depth, copycat contracts, and who can execute first. Maestro’s Telegram notice treated the launch as risky enough to shut off Auto Snipe. The Fundex analyst treated public sniping as a negative-expectation trade even after that shutdown, because manual and private routes would still be faster than typical retail bots.
Maestro’s disablement does not change tokenomics. The site lists 35% of supply unlocked at token generation, a 30% founder allocation, 20% for airdrops, and 30% tied to prediction outcomes. A large liquid float on day one, plus copycat tickers on other chains, is the setup that produces sharp two-way swings.
