Hunter Biden’s $LAPTOP token, launched on Base on September 9, 2026, immediately went into a violent repricing. The token’s public trading opened around 12:00 PM UTC on a decentralized liquidity pool on Aerodrome, rather than a set offering price.
DEXScreener data shows that the token hit a high of $316 within minutes and later crashed below $3—currently trading at $2.31 with its market capitalization sitting near $800 million. This marks an decline of nearly 99% from the high.
The token’s launch prints were extreme. That first-hour washout came with roughly $10 million in volume, a sign that price discovery was happening in thin liquidity rather than through a controlled sale.
The launch structure helps explain the swing. Total supply is 1 billion tokens, with 35% described as unlocked at token generation. Liquidity was only a slice of that float. On the Aerodrome pool, liquidity later sat around $523,000, far smaller than the volume moving through it. Market cap was listed near $1.24 billion, with fully diluted value around $3.56 billion.
Volume stayed heavy after the open. The pair turned over about $10.1 million in 24 hours, with $5.4 million on the buy side and $4.7 million on the sell side. Traders executed 24,489 transactions: 17,713 buys and 6,776 sells, across more than 8,500 wallets. Buys led by count, but sell volume stayed close enough to keep pressure on price.
That is the launch story in market terms: a same-day listing, an opening spike, then a crash from triple digits toward $3 on eight-figure volume and a shallow pool. The $3 handle is now the level traders are watching to see if the selloff is finding a floor.
