Venice (VVV) Token Climbs 40% After Discretionary Burn and GPT Image 2.5 Addition

VVV extends a pattern of headline-driven rallies after Venice confirms its largest discretionary burn and adds GPT Image 2.5.

Venice Token (VVV), the Base-network asset tied to Venice.ai’s private AI platform, surged by more than 40% higher on Wednesday after two official posts from the project on Tuesday: a discretionary token burn and the addition of GPT Image 2.5 models.

As of 10:45 AM UTC, VVV was trading near $25.44 with a market capitalization of about $1.21 billion, and a 24-hour trading volume of $245 million—per CoinGecko data.

AI Summary

If burns continue, reduced supply could push VVV price higher, attracting more speculative investors.
Anonymous GPT Image 2.5 models may drive API usage, increasing staking demand and token utility.
Upcoming emission cut to 2 million VVV in October may tighten inflation, influencing long‑term market dynamics.

The spike in token price follows two simultaneous updates on September 8: a discretionary VVV burn valued at $391,000 at execution and the addition of GPT Image 2.5 Flare and Sunburst, available anonymously in Venice Studio.

VVV has a record of sharp, news-driven jumps rather than only slow grinding moves. In May 2026 the token rose about 24% after a Robinhood listing, a reminder that exchange access and headline flow have previously pulled in fast speculative volume.

Launched in May 2024, Venice.ai introduced VVV token on January 27, 2025 as an ERC-20 on Base. The stated purpose is staking for a pro-rata share of API inference—text, image, and code—without a per-request fee, plus emissions-based yield.

Largest discretionary burn recorded by the issuer

At 16:33 UTC on September 8, Venice said the latest discretionary $VVV burn had been executed and called it the largest to date, valued at $391,000 in VVV at the time of the burn. The project linked an on-chain transaction and its public burn tracker.

That tracker separates two mechanisms. Programmatic burns remove purchased tokens immediately. Discretionary burns are described as monthly removals. The company says a portion of revenue is used to buy VVV and send it to a burn address. The dashboard also notes that unclaimed airdrop tokens were burned in March 2025 and that revenue-funded buybacks began in December 2025. All-time burns are listed at about 33.87 million VVV, or 41.84% of supply.

Supply is not fixed. Emissions have been reduced in stages since launch. Venice has said annual issuance was cut to 2.5 million VVV a year on September 1, with a further cut to 2 million scheduled for October 1. Burns shrink existing supply; lower emissions reduce new issuance. Whether those flows produce net deflation in any given month depends on revenue, buyback size, and staking behavior.

Anonymous GPT Image 2.5 access on Venice Studio

About six hours after the burn post, at 22:15 UTC, Venice announced that GPT Image 2.5 Flare and Sunburst were live on the platform and “available anonymously.”

The product claim is consistent with Venice’s positioning: inference that is private and unrestricted relative to large closed platforms. The company has long argued that mainstream chat and image tools store prompts and apply opaque content rules. Adding a new image family does not, by itself, change token supply. It can, however, affect how traders value API demand if more generation traffic flows through paid plans, credits, or DIEM.

VVV is optional for ordinary app use. Its design links token demand to staking, yield, DIEM minting, and burns funded by subscriptions and API credits. High staking ratios reduce liquid float; DIEM minting locks staked VVV while credits remain outstanding. Those mechanics are described by the issuer. They do not guarantee price.

To note, the price move should not be treated as proof that either post caused the rally. Markets price many inputs at once. What can be documented is the sequence: both notices came from the project’s official account on September 8, and trading activity expanded in the hours that followed.
