Tether, the issuer of USDT, has launched a new online directory to make it easier to find services and platforms that support USD₮, its U.S. dollar-pegged stablecoin.
According to the official announcement, the tool was introduced by CEO Paolo Ardoino during the Plan ₿ Forum 2026 in San Salvador. The newly launched USD₮ directory acts as a searchable database of companies and products that integrate the stablecoin.
Central hub for USD₮ integrations
The directory covers a mix of categories, including exchanges, wallets, payment providers, infrastructure firms, and other financial institutions.
It is developed in partnership with the Web3 data platform The Grid and built to offer a structured, accessible overview of where USD₮ is actively used. Instead of presenting a static list, the platform allows users to filter integrations by category, asset support, and service type.
Mapping real-world usage
USD₮ has grown into one of the largest stablecoins in circulation, with a market capitalization of around $186 billion. It is widely used for trading, remittances, payments, and liquidity management across crypto and traditional financial markets.
By categorizing verified integrations, Tether aims to provide clearer insight into how USD₮ operates across different regions and use cases. The company says the goal is to reflect active implementations rather than promotional listings.
Open to ecosystem
Companies that support Tether’s ecosystem can submit their details or claim existing profiles within the directory. Each request would be reviewed by moderators to help maintain accuracy and relevance.
Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino commented on the launch, stating, “USD₮ does not exist as an isolated asset. It operates within a broad universe of wallets, platforms, payment tools, and cutting-edge infrastructure built by teams around the world.”
He added, “Making the Tether universe more transparent and navigable matters as USD₮ becomes more ubiquitous in everyday financial activity, and this directory helps document how USD₮ and other Tether products are utilized globally.”
Tether is launching the directory as a public proof of concept, with further updates expected as the ecosystem grows.
Open-source mining OS
A week ago, Tether announced that it had open-sourced its Bitcoin Mining Operating System (MOS), aiming for more decentralized Bitcoin mining. Moreover, it unveiled the Mining SDK, the foundational framework behind the operating system. The move reflected a wider pivot in Bitcoin mining, where competition is growing with each passing day.
What it means
The launch of a searchable directory signals a shift toward greater transparency around how stablecoins are used in financial services. For users and institutions, it provides a way to identify trusted platforms that support USD₮. For regulators, it provides details of the stablecoin’s footprint across sectors and regions.
