SBF Unlikely to Participate in Dec 13 US House Hearing

Sam Bankman-Fried, founder of the failed FTX cryptocurrency exchange tweeted on Sunday that he is not ready to testify before the US House of Representatives Financial Services Committee hearing on December 13.

Rep. Waters, and the House Committee on Financial Services:

Once I have finished learning and reviewing what happened, I would feel like it was my duty to appear before the committee and explain.

I'm not sure that will happen by the 13th. But when it does, I will testify. https://t.co/c0P8yKlyQt

The US House Financial Services Committee plans to hold hearings in December to investigate FTX’s collapse and expects to hear from companies and individuals, including founder and CEO Bankman-Fried.

Maxine Waters, a committee chair, invited Bankman-Fried last week to participate in the panel’s hearing on December 13.

Bankman-Fried, FTX CEO replied to Walter by stating “Once I have finished learning and reviewing what happened, I would feel like it was my duty to appear before the committee and explain”

The crypto community pointed towards Bankman-Fried’s political donations and good Democratic connections and mocked the whole debacle.

"It may take me 50 years to learn what happened in the company I ran, but by god I SWEAR it will be my duty to appear before Congress… some time in 2089" https://t.co/HjwFtjZajO

A popular crypto influencer, Crypto Bull, called SBF “Democrat rat”, who stole 8 billion dollars, roaming free and dictating Congress when he will appear. Many in the crypto community have questioned the lawmakers in the US over their failure to act swiftly against the disgraced CEO.
