Megastar Amitabh Bachchan smashed all records on Diwali as he sold digital collectibles from his NFT series for a total amount of $966,000, one of the highest ever sales in India.
Big B announced the launch of his NFT collection in September becoming the first Indian actor to launch NFTs. BeyondLife.Club hosted the auction, which began on November 1 and ended on November 4, the same day as Diwali. Guardian Link, one of India’s largest decentralized branded marketplaces for NFTs, backed the auction.
The most expensive item from the series was the “Madhushala” NFT collection – his father’s poem, which was recorded in Amitabh’s voice and fetched a total of $756,000 by the time the bidding closed. On the first day of the auction, it received bids of up to $420,000.
Beyondlife.club also announced a special “Loot Box” for Bachchan’s NFTs, which will allow buyers to win NFT gifts as well as a chance to get bonus art pieces and vintage posters of the Sholay film actor. The 5,000 LootBox NFTs were sold in 54 minutes, with bids totaling $50,000, according to the auction site.
The limited-edition vintage posters with digital NFT certificate of authenticity, as well as BigB Punks and NFT Arts, sold for $94,052 and $66,900, respectively.

This is just the beginning, as more celebrities are beginning to venture into the NFT business. Recently Superstar Salman Khan also announced the release of his NFT collection following the successful launch of Big B’s successful NFT series. He would be collaborating with Bollycoin, a Bollywood NFT marketplace, to launch the collectibles.
