DriveWealth, a Brokerage-as-a-Service platform, is integrating Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin into its global brokerage infrastructure as the companies expand their work on settlement, payments, and digital asset custody.
According to an announcement made on October 14, the initial stablecoin settlement integration will support operations in Europe, with plans to extend it to the U.S. The arrangement will use RLUSD on the XRP Ledger (XRPL), alongside Ripple’s mint and burn capabilities, according to the companies.
The partnership also includes the integration of Ripple Payments for cross-border fund transfers and work to support DriveWealth’s digital asset custody requirements in Europe. The companies are separately exploring equity-financing opportunities through Ripple Prime’s Delta One business.
RLUSD integration targets brokerage settlement
The stablecoin integration is intended to address delays in moving funds across borders, which can create funding gaps for brokerage firms and their clients. U.S. equities settle on a T+1 basis, while international bank transfers can take longer. That difference can leave capital tied up between funding and settlement, increasing liquidity requirements for financial institutions and brokerage platforms.
DriveWealth said the integration will allow clients to fund and manage collateral accounts using stablecoins that can be converted into cash in near real time, rather than relying solely on bank wires.
The companies said the initial settlement work will focus on Europe, with a U.S. expansion planned. The announcement did not provide a launch date, transaction volumes, or details of the markets where the service will initially be available.
Ripple Payments and custody also part of agreement
Beyond RLUSD settlement, DriveWealth is integrating Ripple Payments to support cross-border fund acceptance from its international partners. The companies are also working on digital asset custody for DriveWealth in Europe, with plans to consider additional markets over time. The announcement did not specify which assets will be supported or when the custody integration will become available.
DriveWealth said the broader arrangement is intended to connect its treasury and custody infrastructure with Ripple’s services, allowing clients to view and move funds across dollars, stablecoins and cryptocurrencies.
The companies are also exploring equity financing through Ripple Prime’s Delta One business, which operates in U.S. equities and equity derivatives. The announcement did not disclose specific financing products or a timeline for that work.
Ripple expands institutional custody and XRPL partnerships
The DriveWealth agreement comes as Ripple expands its institutional infrastructure through partnerships with financial firms in other markets. On October 14, 2026, Ripple partnered with South Korea’s Meritz Securities to assess digital asset custody and tokenization services for the country’s capital markets. Meritz will evaluate Ripple Custody and its tokenization infrastructure for managing, transferring, and settling digital assets. The companies said the work would begin under South Korea’s existing regulatory framework, with no product launch date or financial terms disclosed.
Ripple also partnered with digital asset wallet infrastructure provider Privy on October 13 to support wallet creation and transaction signing on the XRP Ledger. The integration is intended to let developers build applications using XRP, RLUSD and other assets on the network. It also supports x402 payments for agentic commerce, while allowing users to export their private keys and seed phrases.
Separately, Standard Chartered launched institutional custody for RLUSD on the XRP Ledger on October 12 through its Dubai International Financial Centre branch, which is regulated by the Dubai Financial Services Authority. The bank is also working with Ripple and LMAX Group on a service that would allow institutional clients to use RLUSD as trading collateral while keeping the tokens in bank custody.
DriveWealth expands digital asset infrastructure
DriveWealth said its platform supports more than 100 partners globally. The partnership extends Ripple’s stablecoin, payments, and custody services into DriveWealth’s brokerage network. It also follows DriveWealth’s expansion of trading availability to 24 hours a day, five days a week. “We’ve already enabled 24/5 trading; now we need the funding to match, so clients can move with the markets instead of waiting for them,” DriveWealth CEO Naureen Hassan said.
Jack McDonald, Ripple’s senior vice president of stablecoins, said DriveWealth initially approached Ripple over cross-border settlement, but the discussions expanded to trading, custody and payments.
The companies did not disclose the financial terms of the partnership or provide a timeline for completing the integrations.
