Why is HOOD up today
The advance coincided with a rebound in the cryptocurrency market, with Bitcoin crossing $81,000 before giving back some of those gains. At the time of this writing (on August 25 at 3:00 pm UTC), Bitcoin was trading at $79,168.33, down 0.7% over the prior 24 hours, according to CoinGecko data.

The 24-hour range for Bitcoin extended from $78,217.82 to $81,160.06. Market capitalization for Bitcoin was listed at $1.59 trillion, with 24-hour trading volume of $49.669 billion. Circulating supply stood at 20.075 million, according to CoinGecko data (on August 25 at 3:00 pm UTC).
Over the preceding seven days, Bitcoin’s range was $64,123.86 to $81,160.06. The rise in Bitcoin and other digital assets can influence investor sentiment toward companies with significant cryptocurrency-related businesses, although the move in HOOD cannot be attributed to Bitcoin alone.
Wall Street highlights prediction markets
Another factor drawing attention to Robinhood was a Wall Street research note discussing the potential growth of prediction markets.
Bernstein projected approximately $240 billion in annual industry trading volume for prediction markets for 2026. The research also pointed to potential annual trading volume of $1 trillion by 2030 and estimated industry revenue of about $10.8 billion in that year.
The projections are estimates from Bernstein and do not represent confirmed future market volumes or Robinhood revenue.
Robinhood has expanded its presence in prediction markets, making the segment relevant to investors assessing the company’s potential growth areas.
Prior session performance
The move followed a larger advance the previous Friday. As earlier reported by The Crypto Times, Robinhood shares rose more than 13%, trading at $107.73 at 11:51 a.m. ET, up 13.28% from the prior close of $95.10. That session’s gains were linked to a broader cryptocurrency market rally and commentary on U.S. digital-asset regulation.
Tuesday’s move extended the recent gains in HOOD as investors continued to track cryptocurrency prices and developments in prediction markets.
