Solana (SOL) Price Reclaims $100 Mark for First Time in Six Months

The breakthrough comes after an extended period of consolidation. SOL last traded sustainably above $100 in early February 2026 before sliding lower, eventually testing levels near $60–$70 earlier in the year.

Solana (SOL) price has surged back above the psychologically important $100 level, marking its highest price in roughly six months and signaling a notable shift in momentum for one of the market’s leading layer-1 blockchains.

As of 7:15 AM UTC, August 25, 2026, SOL was trading around $101.50, up 6.5% in the past 24 hours and roughly 35% over the past week, according to data from Coingecko.

SOL price broke $100, reaching $101.5, with 24‑hour volume near $7 billion.
Transaction activity and developer engagement stay high on Solana, supporting DeFi, memecoin, and tokenized asset growth.
New on‑chain governance votes propose faster disinflation and higher fee burns, tightening SOL’s supply.

The breakthrough comes after an extended period of consolidation. SOL last traded sustainably above $100 in early February 2026 before sliding lower, eventually testing levels near $60–$70 earlier in the year.

The recent move began accelerating on August 19, with the token climbing from the mid-$70s to briefly pierce $100 on August 22—its first such print since February—before consolidating and then pushing higher again into August 25. The token’s intraday highs recently reached the low $102–$103 area—as shown in the YTD chart from TradingView.

TradingView data as of 7:15 AM UTC further shows that SOL’s trading volume has expanded significantly during the advance, with 24-hour volumes climbing into the $7 billion range. Its market capitalization has correspondingly recovered to $59 billion, keeping Solana among the top cryptocurrencies by size.

This rally has been accompanied by millions in liquidations of short positions and increased activity across Solana’s decentralized exchanges, reflecting renewed trader interest.

Drivers Behind the Rebound

The rebound in SOL price seems to have fueled after several factors appearing to have aligned to push the recovery. Broader cryptocurrency market sentiment improved as Bitcoin held key levels and risk appetite returned to altcoins.

On the Solana-specific front, network fundamentals have remained robust. DeFiLlama data shows transaction activity and developer engagement on the chain have stayed elevated, supporting the narrative of ongoing ecosystem growth in DeFi, memecoins, and real-world asset (RWA) tokenization.

Institutional flows have also played a role. Spot Solana exchange-traded funds recorded notable net inflows in recent weeks, providing a structural bid even as the broader market experienced volatility earlier in 2026. Data from crypto ETFs tracker SoSoValue shows SOL ETF amassed over $28.34 million in weekly inflows for the week ending on 21 August, which was highest in recent weeks.

Analysts have pointed to the lengthy 200-day-plus accumulation range that SOL carved out between roughly $70 and $95–$100. Breaking above the upper boundary of that range is viewed by some technicians as a potential confirmation of a larger upside resolution, with intermediate targets discussed in the $110–$120 zone if momentum persists.

Trader @Crypto__Haris on X, who sees a bearish set-up further, notes that the $98–$102 range is still a strong resistance. “SOL has tested this zone multiple times and got rejected again this time after taking liquidity around $102,” the trader said.

What Comes Next for SOL

While the reclaim of $100 is a clear positive milestone after months spent below it, market participants remain cautious about sustainability. Crypto prices are inherently volatile, and SOL remains well below its all-time high near $294 reached in January 2025.

Many bullish voices on X predict that a successful hold above $100, followed by higher closes, would strengthen the bullish case and potentially open the door to further gains. Conversely, a failure to maintain the level could see the token retest lower supports in the $90–$95 region or deeper into the prior range.

Ecosystem developments continue to provide a longer-term backdrop. Solana’s high throughput, low fees, and expanding application layer have kept it competitive among smart-contract platforms.

Solana’s recent network upgrades and growing stablecoin and RWA activity on-chain have been cited by observers as supportive of the fundamental story even during price drawdowns.

Moreover, Solana has recently launched its first formal on-chain governance votes on a network constitution, faster disinflation, and higher fee burns—proposals that could tighten SOL’s long-term supply. These landmark ballots, which close later this week, may further bolster bullish sentiment as the community signals stronger monetary discipline amid the token’s return above $100.

As of the latest data, the market is closely monitoring whether the $100 level can flip from resistance into support. Volume trends, ETF flows, and broader crypto risk sentiment will likely dictate the near-term path. For now, the swift climb from the mid-$70s to reclaim a level not seen since February has injected fresh optimism into Solana holders and traders watching for confirmation of a more sustained recovery.
