MoonPay Brings Gas-Free TRON Transactions to Trust Wallet Users

Key Highlights

  • MoonPay brings gasless TRON transactions to Trust Wallet, letting users send and swap assets without holding TRX for network fees.
  • The update removes a barrier for users by covering gas fees in the background, making TRON transactions simpler.
  • The launch builds on MoonPay and TRON’s partnership established in 2025.

MoonPay has introduced a new feature designed to simplify transactions on the TRON blockchain by eliminating the need for users to hold TRX to pay network fees.

In an official release published on Wednesday, the company said it has integrated the TRON network into its Trade infrastructure, allowing users to complete transactions without holding TRX, the network’s native token, for gas fees.

The feature is launching first through Trust Wallet and is designed to remove one of the main friction points users face when sending stablecoins and interacting with decentralized applications on TRON.

Why TRON users no longer need TRX for gas fees

For many users, sending crypto on a blockchain is not always as simple as it sounds. On the TRON network, even people who only wanted to send or swap stablecoins still needed to keep a small amount of TRX in their wallet to cover network fees.

Without sufficient TRX, transactions could not be completed, requiring users to acquire an additional token even if they only intended to use stablecoins.

MoonPay said this new system removes that problem. Instead of asking users to hold TRX, the platform takes care of the network fee in the background and includes it as part of the transaction. This means users can make transactions using only the assets they already have in their wallets without worrying about buying TRX first.

The integration also works across the wider TRON ecosystem, including decentralized platforms such as SunSwap and JustLend. MoonPay said the update is meant to make it easier for users to move assets, interact with blockchain applications, and get started with on-chain services. The company added that the change can also make life easier for wallets, developers, and businesses building products on the TRON network.

Trust Wallet rolls out the new feature first

Trust Wallet is the first platform to offer the feature through MoonPay’s Trade infrastructure, giving its users direct access to gasless transactions on TRON.

TRON Founder Justin Sun said the update fits with the network’s goal of making blockchain technology easier for everyone to use. “TRON empowers millions of users around the world who rely on the network for everyday payments,” Sun said.

He added, “The network was created on the belief that blockchains should be accessible, easy to use, and give individuals greater control over how they transact. The collaboration with MoonPay advances that vision by simplifying stablecoin transactions on TRON and making everyday onchain payments easier for users.”

MoonPay CEO and Founder Ivan Soto-Wright said stablecoins are changing the way people move money, but the experience should be simple across every blockchain.

Building on an earlier partnership

This is not the first time MoonPay and TRON will be working together.

In 2025, the firms teamed up to let users in the United States buy TRX directly through the MoonPay platform. That partnership initially gave more people easier access to the TRON ecosystem and was part of the network’s plan to bring blockchain technology to more users. They could use traditional payment methods, which gave users a simple way to enter the TRON ecosystem without going through extra steps.

The new partnership comes as MoonPay has also expanded its services, including the launch of PayBox, an AI-powered payment tool, and its acquisition of Entendre, a finance operations platform.
