IBIT keeps adding Bitcoin
The continued inflow comes as BlackRock has continued adding to its Bitcoin holdings, transferring approximately $500 million worth of BTC to IBIT over the past five days without recording a single sale.
According to Arkham data, BlackRock currently holds about 738K BTC valued at $49.16 billion. The firm’s move has increased the trust’s Bitcoin holdings, while its overall portfolio exceeds $54.7 billion.
On-chain and ETF flow data show multiple large additions routed through Coinbase Prime, with several 300 BTC transactions attributed to BlackRock in recent days.

The latest purchase was made on July 17, 2026, adding $116 million in Bitcoin, bringing IBIT’s Bitcoin holdings to 737,412.7 BTC. While some days showed minor reductions, the overall five-day trend reflects aggressive buying.

BlackRock’s ETF portfolio also includes exposure to Ethereum and other assets, but Bitcoin remains the dominant holding.

BlackRock reports strong Q2 2026
BlackRock reported record assets under management (AUM) of $15.34 trillion in the second quarter of 2026, marking a 22% increase from the same period last year. Despite outflows of approximately $3.3 billion from its flagship spot Bitcoin ETF (IBIT) during the quarter, the firm reported overall growth.
The firm posted total net inflows of $191.7 billion, with long-term net inflows reaching $199.1 billion. Revenue grew 31% year-over-year to $7.08 billion, while GAAP net income stood at $1.91 billion. Diluted earnings per share came in at $12.19, or $13.91 on an adjusted basis, both beating prior-year figures.
Risks still remain
Despite continued inflows and BlackRock’s recent Bitcoin purchases, concentration risk remains a consideration. Large institutional holdings could influence market liquidity and price dynamics, particularly during periods of elevated volatility.
In addition, regulatory uncertainty surrounding spot Bitcoin ETFs and digital asset custody continues to present risks for the broader market. As with other crypto investments, Bitcoin remains subject to significant price fluctuations.
