Robinhood Markets Inc (NASDAQ: HOOD) shares surged on Tuesday, climbing more than 8.06% in morning trading to reach $107.29, up from the previous close of $99.28.
According to Google Finance data, the stock opened at $102.82, reached an intraday high of $107.35, and showed strong momentum with elevated trading volume. The rally also came amid a broader constructive environment for tech stocks, with the NASDAQ trending higher.

Why is HOOD price up?
The primary catalyst for today’s gains was a bullish price-target upgrade from Bernstein analyst Gautam Chuggani. The firm raised its target price for HOOD from $130 to $160 while reiterating an “Outperform” rating.

Bernstein highlighted Robinhood’s growth potential in emerging high-margin businesses, particularly prediction markets, perpetual futures, and tokenized equities. Analysts project these segments could contribute to a $70 billion industry fee pool, with prediction markets alone potentially generating $1.7 billion in revenue for Robinhood by 2028.
The firm said these businesses could help Robinhood expand beyond its traditional retail brokerage business.
Investor attention is also building ahead of Robinhood’s Q2 2026 earnings report, scheduled for release on July 29, 2026. Market participants are positioning for what many expect to be a strong quarter, driven by increased trading activity, crypto interest, and user growth.
Over the past month, HOOD has gained more than 17%. Key fundamentals supporting this view include a market capitalization of approximately $94.85 billion, a 52-week high of $153.86, and an EPS of $2.07.
Analysts remain bullish for the stock

Analyst consensus remains positive. Based on ratings from 19 analysts in the past three months, 16 recommend “Buy,” three suggest “Hold,” and none advise “Sell,” resulting in a “Strong Buy” overall rating.
The 12-month price target average stands at $118.04 (representing about 11.7% upside from recent levels), with the highest forecast reaching $160, aligning with Bernstein’s new target, and a low of $5.00.
The wide range of price targets reflects differing views on the company’s growth prospects and execution risks.
Technical indicators also support the bullish case in the short term. After a period of consolidation and a notable pullback visible in the five-day chart, the stock broke above key intraday levels with conviction. Volume reached 357.88K in early trading, signaling genuine buying interest rather than thin liquidity moves.
Sharp reversal also expected
Despite the rally and analyst sentiment, several risks loom for Robinhood. The stock remains well below its 52-week high of $153.86 and faces competition from established brokers and crypto-native platforms. Regulatory scrutiny over prediction markets and tokenized assets could impose unexpected compliance costs or restrictions
With a P/E ratio of 51.02, the stock’s valuation leaves little margin for error if earnings disappoint or macroeconomic conditions deteriorate. High beta and dependence on volatile trading volumes and crypto sentiment make HOOD susceptible to sharp reversals.
