Nigerian Interpol

Yesterday, the Nigerian police officers from Interpol received special training that would help them deal with crimes involving virtual currencies like Bitcoin and stablecoins.

The intensive program was organized by A&D Forensics working together with the Africa Stablecoin Consortium, and took place in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria.

The Africa Stablecoin Consortium and A&D Forensics were invited to equip 20 senior officers of the #Interpol Nigeria with important knowledge about the handling of stablecoins.

The main goal was to teach Interpol police how to use blockchain technology to find and arrest cyber criminals using cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and stablecoins for illegal activities. Cybercrime has moved beyond just regular money, with criminals now using virtual currencies to commit cyber crimes.

As Nigerian Interpol receives requests about cyber crimes from other countries, they need better skills to handle cases involving virtual currencies. this training will allow officers to properly investigate cyber crimes using virtual currencies, especially stablecoins, therefore putting Nigerian Interpol at the forefront of fighting this new type of crime.

The training was very important because of the increasing cyber crimes happening in Nigeria. There was a big gap between modern cyber crimes and the skills of the Nigerian police.

As a responsible company, A&D Forensics saw this gap and wanted to help the police stay up-to-date and get better at stopping cyber crimes.

With more people in Nigeria using digital currency exchanges, this special training is a timely and vital step. It ensures that Nigerian Interpol has the right tools to take on cyber criminals misusing virtual assets.
