According to the announcement on subreddit r/CollectibleAvatars, social media platform Reddit will drop its Gen4 collectible avatars on this Wednesday.
The new collection titled ‘Retro Reimagined’ will be the 4th generation collectibles. It will reveal new designs from several creators including Cool Cats NFT which is among the biggest NFT projects on Ethereum.
Just as previous drops, the new generation collectibles will also launch on Polygon. Reddit is also introducing changes in its collectible shop that will be available in the avatar editing section.
Although it does not allow trading avatars in the secondary market as Reddit doesn’t see collections as proper NFTs. However, it allows owners to transfer avatars to Reddit’s other account via blockchain-based Vault or third party wallets.
The project was first launched in July 2022 with it launching the last 3rd generation series in April, 2023.
