Machi Big Brother sold a Bored Ape at 76% loss on August 13 to maintain a 2,800 ETH position
The sale followed a withdrawal of 1,540 USDC from Binance, amidst a leveraged Ethereum position
This event occurred after a sequence of liquidations, including one in November 2025, where Huang reopened a 25x ETH long

Machi Big Brother sold a Bored Ape at a 76% loss and pulled 1,540 USDC off Binance on Wednesday. Together it came to under $17,200, against a leveraged Ethereum position of $5.3 million. Lookonchain says Jeffrey Huang (Machi Big Brother) sold the token to keep a 2,800 ETH long position open after withdrawing 1,540 USDC from Binance.

Bored Ape Yacht Club #5715 sold for 8.3 ETH on August 13 from the wallet labelled MachiBigBrother, which acquired it for 34.17 ETH three years ago, a decline of 75.7% in ETH terms.

Lookonchain Links the Sale to a Leveraged Position

On-chain analytics account Lookonchain posted at 8:30 am on August 13 that Huang sold the token to keep his ETH long going and that he had withdrawn 1,540 USDC from Binance. It valued the sale at $15,570 and put the position at 2,800 ETH, or $5.3 million, with a liquidation price of $1,863.08.

It looks like Machi(@machibigbrother) is really running out of money.

He withdrew only 1,540 $USDC from #Binance.

He had to sell Bored Ape #5715 for just 8.3 $ETH ($15,570), which he bought for 34.17 $ETH 3 years ago, to keep his $ETH long going.

The post included screenshots of the Hyperliquid portfolio and an Arkham inflow list showing transfers into Huang’s wallets from OpenSea’s Seaport contract and a Binance hot wallet.

Sale Price Down 76% in Both ETH and Dollars

OpenSea records the token selling to the MachiBigBrother wallet for $64,600 three years ago and records the August 13 sale at $15,700, which represents a decline of roughly 76%, matching the ETH-denominated fall.

The sale is recorded on Ethereum at hash 0x827532276ee13859e733209d085127711e96afd1714c8b0e0176b9916c3ee9e8. BAYC #5715 carries a rarity rank of 8,087.

Position Sits $28.72 Above Liquidation

The Hyperliquid account at 0x020ca66c30bec2c4fe3861a94e4db4a498a35872, labelled Machi Big Brother, holds a long position of 2,800 ETH with a notional value of $5,297,040 at 25x cross leverage.

The interface records an entry price of $1,898.23, a mark price of $1,891.80, an unrealized loss of $18,027.89, and a liquidation price of $1,863.08—$28.72 below the mark, or about 1.5%. Spot holdings on the account total $184,741.35 as of 12:20 pm UTC.

Funding Costs Exceed the Price Loss Sevenfold

Funding payments on the position total $133,788.12, roughly 7.4 times the unrealized loss from the price move itself.

The effect appears in the break-even price of $1,947.36 against the $1,898.23 entry. That $49.13 gap corresponds to $47.78 per ETH in funding across 2,800 ETH. ETH would need to rise about 2.9% from the mark for the position to break even, while a 1.5% fall would lead to liquidation.

The 8.3 ETH sale and the 1,540 USDC withdrawal together amount to under $17,200, against a position of $5.3 million.

Buyer Relisted Above Floor

The buyer, under the profile name NFTPER_jesusisgood, listed #5715 for $16,100 with a seven-day duration, $700 above both the sale price and the stated collection floor.

Position Follows a Documented Sequence of Liquidations

Huang, the entrepreneur behind the Mithril ICO, Cream Finance, and Formosa Financial, has been among the largest holders of Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs. The Crypto Times reported in June 2023 that he sold more than 50 apes in a week, including 19 in one transaction for 651 ETH.

In November 2025 his Hyperliquid account was liquidated for more than $15 million, leaving $16,771, after which he reopened a 25x ETH long. Days later he added $262,500 USDC to a 3,000 ETH position after a partial liquidation.
