Popular snack brand Slim Jim is making waves in the digital realm, announcing its foray into the Web3 world with an interactive platform known as the “Meataverse” and offering free Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs).
For a limited duration, snack lovers can join the free digital fan club, where they’ll be rewarded with a dynamic NFT named “GigaJim”. Operating on the Ethereum scaling network Polygon, Slim Jim is even offering to pay network transaction costs, or ‘gas fees’, associated with these NFTs.
Slim Jim has a total of 10,000 NFTs up for grabs on a first-come, first-serve basis. These digital tokens serve as a unique membership card, granting holders access to exclusive perks, benefits, and an array of both online and real-world experiences planned for future rollout.
To obtain a GigaJim, US-based users will need to provide their phone number and email address on the dedicated platform. Subsequently, a procedurally generated NFT, carrying randomly chosen visual attributes inspired by the Slim Jim brand’s social media lore, will be created via the “Meaterializer” feature.
The procured NFT gets added to the user’s digital wallet, opening up the gateway to the exciting “Meataverse” website. Holders can amplify their GigaJims’ appearance, cool factor, and rarity over time by accumulating Slim Jim’s digital currency, S.A.U.C.E. The brand will also feature a public leaderboard to rank rarity scores.
In an ongoing commitment to engagement, Slim Jim has declared the imminent release of a roadmap outlining further enhancements and features. These add-ons, set to roll out in the upcoming seasons, will provide the “Long Boi Gang” community with more reasons to interact within the “Meataverse.” To facilitate the launch, a dedicated Slim Jim Discord server has also been established.
