The leading layer-2 gaming engine, Paima went live on the Cardano network bringing an on-chain gaming experience for all Cardano users and other networks, including Polkadot. What makes this arrival more exciting is the trade in pure “ADA” tokens.
On-chain gaming is an exponentially growing segment of blockchain along with crypto. In 2022, the worldwide market for blockchain gaming had a worth of USD 5.41 billion, and it is anticipated to increase at a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 68.9% between 2023 and 2032.
Through Paima, developers, and studios can deploy their own games for “free” on the Cardano network. However, to transact assets with the game users will need an “any wallet”.
Another attraction that comes with this development is Paima’s Stateful NFTs, which could be users’ “accounts, characters or items” that evolve over the course of the game according to accrue value through usage. These NFTs or evolved gaming accounts will also be tradable on the secondary market.
Paima has also thanked Milkomeda, a layer-2 network to enable their deployment with great interoperability with other EVM platforms.
Paima also claimed itself as hack-proof as games available on the platform will leverage default non-custodial. It will eliminate the direct involvement of users’ funds.
