Virtual gaming platform, The Sandbox is all set to launch its most awaited Project The Sandbox Alpha on Nov 29 after 4 years-long development of the metaverse. The Sandbox Alpha is welcoming players for the first time through the Play-to-earn (P2E) Alpha event. Yet, this fun opportunity is limited as very few users will get entry into this event.
The event is scheduled for three weeks, from Nov 29 at 1 pm UTC to Dec 20. As per the announcement, 5000 Alpha passes will be distributed, which means only 5000 players can participate in this event, where they can explore the 18 experiences of the Alpha Map and earn up to 1000 SAND tokens, which total worth is nearly $3,500 at current prices.
Also, Players without Alpha passes will be allowed in the Alpha event and can contest into three full experiences, and the Alpha Hub. However, they will not be able to earn Play-to-Earn rewards.
The Sandbox allows players to monetize their works in the play-to-earn event. In-game, players can own land as well as non-fungible tokens (NFT). Also, players can get rewards of Sandbox token (SAND) through participating in various quests.
Also, lucky winners based on the completion of objectives will receive three exclusive NFTs. These NFTs contain a medieval-style gate, a blue-and-black dragon, and a longsword, which can be used in The Sandbox metaverse.
The Alpha pass distribution will be decided on different parameters. Firstly priority is given to landowners in the metaverse to get the first 1000 passes. While another 2,250 passes will be distributed among Sandbox account holders through daily social contests. These passes will also be sold on the secondary NFT marketplace of Opensea from Nov 29 to Dec 19.
As per the data from Opensea, the base price or least price of the Sandbox NFTs is around 1.019 ETH ($4,284), and the total generated volume is around 39,700 ETH ($165.3 million) since 2019.
