Binance opened spot trading for a tokenized version of Trump Media & Technology Group stock at 12:00 UTC on Wednesday and, at the same moment, made the token eligible as margin collateral across three of its margin products.
Two Announcements, One Timestamp
The spot listing was published at 01:00 UTC and the collateral notice at 07:00 UTC. Both take effect at 12:00 UTC.
DJTB/USDT opened with Spot Algo Trading Bots enabled and zero maker fees running through 23:59 UTC on August 31. Binance Convert supports the token at zero fees for the first hour. Withdrawals open at 13:00 UTC, one hour after trading.
Simultaneously, DJTB became eligible collateral under Cross Margin, Portfolio Margin, and Portfolio Margin Pro. Binance did not publish a phase-in period, meaning the token carries no price history on the venue at the moment it becomes usable to back leveraged positions.
Two constraints limit the exposure. Borrowing against DJTB is not currently supported, and the collateral feature is restricted to VIP 3 users and above in permitted jurisdictions.
Who Issues, Lists, and Accepts It
bStocks are issued by BTech Holdings Limited, a Binance group affiliate. They are classified under ADGM rules as certificates representing financial instruments under paragraph 92, Schedule 1 of the FSMR—not shares, and not direct ownership of the underlying company. Holders do not own Trump Media stock.
The surrounding infrastructure is also Binance’s. Nest Exchange Limited operates as a recognized investment exchange, Nest Clearing and Custody Limited as a recognized clearing house and central securities depository, and Nest Trading Limited as the broker-dealer—all Binance ADGM entities regulated by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority.
The result is that the same corporate group issues the token, operates the venue where it trades, clears and custodies it, and now accepts it as collateral against leveraged positions on that venue.
DJTB runs as a BNB Smart Chain contract at 0xF2ec508422174Ee564de98187db9359D318AFB6b. Conversion between the underlying share and the token is 1:1 with no conversion fee.
Binance and the Trump Family
The listing arrives against a documented history between Binance and the Trump family that has drawn scrutiny from Congress and the press.
Trump pardoned Binance founder Changpeng Zhao on October 23, 2025. Zhao had pleaded guilty in 2023 to failing to maintain an anti-money-laundering program, part of a $4.3 billion settlement between Binance and the Justice Department, and served four months in prison. He stepped down as chief executive under the plea agreement and remains a major shareholder. Richard Teng is Binance’s co-CEO.
The pardon followed a lobbying campaign and came two months after the Wall Street Journal reported that the Trump family’s crypto venture, World Liberty Financial, had benefited from a partnership with a trading platform administered by Binance. In 2025, Emirati investment firm MGX used $2 billion of World Liberty’s USD1 stablecoin to take a stake in Binance. Trump’s financial disclosure reported over $57 million in income from World Liberty Financial.
Senator Elizabeth Warren, ranking member of the Senate Banking Committee, called the pardon an example of corruption. Zhao told CNBC in January that the relationship had been misconstrued and that there are no business relationships between him and the Trump family.
Trump Media & Technology Group’s largest shareholder is the president.
Several factors cut against reading the listing as connected. DJTB is one of more than 36 bStocks listings added since June, alongside Circle, NVIDIA, Tesla, and others, and Binance has said it intends to expand the range further. The token is issued under an ADGM prospectus and is not available to US persons.
The Crypto Times asked Binance whether Trump Media’s ownership was a factor in selecting DJTB for listing, how bStocks listings are chosen, whether different criteria applied to collateral eligibility, and what haircut is applied to DJTB as collateral at 11:23 am UTC.
Where bStocks Stand
Binance launched bStocks in June with an initial batch covering Circle, Micron, NVIDIA, Sandisk, and Tesla. The product reached $100 million in assets under management within two weeks, and Binance Research reported listings expanding from five to 36 over roughly a month.
The exchange has framed the appeal as round-the-clock access: around 62% of July bStocks activity took place while US markets were closed, and weekend prices reflected a median 92% of the gap that appeared when US markets reopened.
