Key Highlights
- SOL is now live on the XRP Ledger, giving users access to Solana’s native token on XRPL.
- SOL can be traded on XPMarket, First Ledger and Magnetic, with XPMarket supporting a SOL/XRP pair.
- Axelar connects SOL and XRPL, building on its earlier work connecting both Solana and the XRP Ledger.
Solana’s native token SOL is now live on the XRP Ledger (XRPL), giving users a new way to access the token outside its home network. Axelar made the connection possible, allowing users to access SOL on the XRPL decentralized exchange (DEX) or bridge it through Axelar’s app.
In a Friday announcement posted on X, Axelar said users can now access SOL on the XRPL DEX.
The network also pointed users to three platforms where SOL can be traded on XRPL: XPMarket, First Ledger and Magnetic. XPMarket, for example, now offers a SOL/XRP trading pair through its decentralized exchange.
This means a user does not have to keep their SOL activity only on Solana to access the token. Through the new connection, SOL can be brought into the XRPL environment, where it can be traded against XRP. Users can also use Axelar’s platform to bridge the asset between supported networks.
Axelar connects SOL to the XRP ledger
This new development was made possible through early work that connected the XRP Ledger to Axelar’s wider network.
In June 2025, Axelar announced cross-chain connectivity for the XRPL mainnet and the XRPL EVM Sidechain. The connection linked the XRP Ledger ecosystem with more than 80 blockchain networks and gave users a way to move supported assets between connected chains.
The XRPL EVM Sidechain was built to give developers an Ethereum-compatible environment while staying connected to the XRP Ledger. Axelar was used as the bridge connecting the sidechain with the wider blockchain ecosystem.
Axelar later expanded its work with Solana. In June 2026, the interoperability network integrated Solana Mainnet, allowing assets and data to move between Solana and other networks connected to Axelar. XRP Ledger was among the networks included in that wider connection.
Axelar later added Solana to the network
The new SOL support on XRPL now puts that earlier connection into a form that users can directly access. Instead of the connection being only part of the underlying blockchain infrastructure, SOL can now appear in the XRPL trading environment.
For XRPL users, the change means Solana’s native token is now available through an ecosystem built around the XRP Ledger. For SOL users, it creates another route into XRPL and its decentralized exchange.
SOL Gains a New Route Into XRPL
Axelar’s announcement also makes clear where users can find the new market. XPMarket, First Ledger and Magnetic each provide access to SOL trading on XRPL, while Axelar handles the cross-chain connection that brings SOL into the network.
The development is another step in Axelar’s work to connect separate blockchain networks. Its earlier XRPL integration opened routes for supported assets to move between XRPL and other chains, while its Solana integration connected Solana with multiple blockchain ecosystems.
For now, the main change is simple: SOL has arrived on XRPL. Users can trade it on supported XRPL DEX platforms and bridge it through Axelar, bringing Solana’s native token into another blockchain ecosystem without moving the Solana network itself.
