Key Highlights
- XRP Ledger and the XRPL EVM Sidechain are now available on the Axelar App.
- The integration enables cross-chain transfers for assets, including XRP, WBTC, WETH, USDF, SHx, SOIL, mBTC, mTBILL, and mXRP.
- Axelar previously connected the XRPL EVM Sidechain with more than 80 blockchains.
The XRP Ledger (XRPL) and its XRPL EVM Sidechain are now connected to Axelar’s interoperability network, allowing users to transfer supported assets across multiple blockchain ecosystems.
In an X post on Tuesday, Axelar announced support for XRPL on its app, enabling cross-chain asset transfers through its interoperability infrastructure. The XRP Ledger Foundation also shared the update on X, highlighting faster asset movement between connected networks.
The integration expands XRPL’s ability to interact with external blockchain ecosystems as the network continues moving beyond its native environment toward broader applications in DeFi and tokenized assets.
What the integration unlocks
Through the Axelar App, users can now access cross-chain transfer routes for multiple assets within the XRP Ledger ecosystem. Supported assets include XRP, SHx, USDf, SOIL, WETH, WBTC, mBTC, mTBILL and mXRP.
The integration allows users and developers to move assets between supported networks without relying on separate bridge infrastructure for each blockchain.
For developers, the connection creates additional opportunities to build applications that require access to liquidity across multiple ecosystems.
XRPL EVM Sidechain gains broader connectivity
The latest development builds on Axelar’s previous work with the XRP Ledger ecosystem.
In June 2025, Axelar introduced cross-chain connectivity for the XRPL EVM Sidechain and XRP Ledger mainnet, connecting the ecosystem with more than 80 blockchains.
The XRPL EVM Sidechain was created to allow developers to use Ethereum-compatible tools while benefiting from XRPL features such as faster settlement, lower transaction costs, and XRP-based liquidity. At launch, Axelar enabled transfers of assets, including wrapped XRP, between XRPL and the EVM-compatible environment, helping expand the network’s multichain capabilities.
Axelar expands interoperability network
The XRPL integration is part of Axelar’s wider effort to connect major blockchain ecosystems. Earlier in June 2026, Axelar integrated Solana Mainnet into its interoperability network, allowing developers and users to transfer assets and data between Solana and other connected blockchains, including Ethereum, XRP Ledger, Stellar, and Hedera.
The Solana integration expanded Axelar’s role as blockchain networks increasingly focus on interoperability for applications involving stablecoins, tokenized assets, and decentralized finance.
XRPL pushes toward institutional finance
The cross-chain expansion comes as XRPL continues developing infrastructure aimed at institutional use cases.
Earlier this month, Ripple announced investments in ZILO and Licuido to strengthen capabilities around token issuance, digital transfer agency services, and collateral mobility for tokenized assets on XRPL. The investments reflect a broader push to build infrastructure that allows traditional financial assets to be issued, managed, and used on blockchain networks.
However, interoperability remains a key requirement for tokenized finance, as assets and applications increasingly need to operate across multiple blockchain environments.
