Michael Saylor’s Strategy Moves Another 1,030 BTC After $102M Disposal

Major corporate Bitcoin holders continued to draw market attention on Wednesday after on-chain data revealed significant transfers involving Strategy, the company formerly known as MicroStrategy and led by Michael Saylor, as well as Bitcoin mining firm MARA Holdings.

Analytics platform Lookonchain reported that wallets linked to Strategy transferred a total of around 1,030 Bitcoin, valued at approximately $66.14 million, in a series of transactions completed within a short window. On-chain records from Arkham show five separate outgoing transfers from addresses labeled “Strategy linked wallet,” including moves of 330.664 BTC, 276.648 BTC, 219.555 BTC, 106.65 BTC, and 96.74 BTC. One of the larger portions (approximately 276.65 BTC) was sent to the addresses 3Hah6kVN8ojrHPe39G7DCodSqGkAfWT9Km and bc1pvq49d652302mtmvvgpyq73l5z8ez9mtdpc8usegk36k0vpwjtkys9ejd2p. The movement follows Strategy’s recent disclosure of a sale of 1,638 Bitcoin for roughly $102.4 million in the prior week.

Strategy transferred 1,030 Bitcoin within a short window, following a sale of 1,638 Bitcoin for $102.4 million in the prior week, amidst ongoing treasury management
MARA Holdings moved 6,000 Bitcoin to an address linked to TwoPrime over five hours, sparking speculation about the transfer’s purpose, possibly for lending or yield strategies
Both transfers occurred within a closely watched timeline, as corporate treasury activity influences market sentiment, with Bitcoin experiencing significant volatility in recent months

Despite these outflows, the company continues to maintain one of the largest corporate Bitcoin treasuries in the world, holding 842,138 Bitcoin with an estimated value of $52.65 billion at prevailing prices.

The transfers from Strategy-linked addresses were broken into multiple smaller transactions according to blockchain tracking data from Arkham. Several of the outgoing transfers occurred within a few hours of one another, with individual amounts ranging from under 100 Bitcoin to more than 300 Bitcoin each.

Historical records associated with the same labeled wallets show earlier inflows from institutional custodians such as Anchorage Digital in previous months, suggesting the addresses form part of a broader treasury management structure.

Strategy has not issued an official statement confirming whether the latest transfers represent an outright sale, a custody reorganization, or preparation for other financial activities. Earlier company filings had noted the possibility of selective Bitcoin sales to support dividends, interest payments, share buybacks, or other capital needs when required.

Strategy’s Continued Accumulation and Selective Sales

Strategy has built its reputation over several years as the most aggressive public company buyer of Bitcoin. Under Saylor’s leadership the firm has repeatedly raised capital through equity and debt offerings specifically to expand its Bitcoin holdings. The company’s current Bitcoin holdings places Strategy far ahead of other corporate holders and underscores the scale of its long-term conviction in the asset.

Any movement of even a relatively modest portion from this treasury can generate speculation because of the company’s outsized influence and the transparency of its previous purchases.

The recent sale of 1,638 Bitcoin marked a departure from pure accumulation, yet the remaining holdings continue to represent the overwhelming majority of the company’s Bitcoin strategy.

MARA’s Large Transfer Raises Separate Questions

In a separate but concurrent development, Bitcoin miner MARA Holdings transferred 6,000 Bitcoin, valued at around $384.6 million, to an address associated with TwoPrime over a period of approximately five hours. On-chain records show MARA transferred 6,000 BTC (worth approximately $384.6 million) to TwoPrime over the past 5 hours through a series of transactions, many of them in 500 BTC increments. Lookonchain linked the activity to the address bc1qkrr502g34cy5yusmurnzksc3elcxyrlh9znpudp0rzt3j02wvc6q9tt8ce. MARA currently holds 36,303 Bitcoin in total, representing roughly $2.34 billion at current valuations. The transfer does not necessarily indicate a sale and could be related to asset management.

Lookonchain noted that the destination address is linked to TwoPrime, an entity involved in digital asset management services. Industry analysts cautioned that the transfer does not necessarily signal an imminent sale into the open market.

Transfers of this nature can support collateralized lending arrangements, yield strategies, or internal treasury reorganization rather than direct liquidation.

The dual reports of large Bitcoin movements by Strategy and MARA arrive at a time when corporate treasury activity remains a closely watched indicator for broader market sentiment. Following Wednesday’s transactions, SEC regulatory filings show Strategy’s total balance stands at 842,138 BTC, while MARA Holdings maintains a reported treasury balance of 36,303 BTC. Neither company has filed a Form 8-K or released an official statement announcing a change in core treasury strategy.
