Key Highlights
- World will migrate its ecosystem from Solana to the Robinhood Crypto chain.
- The decision followed what the team described as careful internal deliberation over the past 24 hours.
- The migration comes shortly after Robinhood expanded its on-chain infrastructure, including Chainlink-powered stock token support.
World, the prediction market protocol previously operating on Solana, has announced that it will migrate its entire ecosystem to the Robinhood Crypto chain.
In an X post on Wednesday, the platform said the decision came after “careful deliberation from the team in the last 24 hours.” The team added that it had decided to migrate from Solana to the Robinhood Crypto chain.
Robinhood has recently expanded its on-chain offerings, including the integration of Chainlink oracles for tokenized stocks and broader crypto services. World also thanked the Solana Foundation and its community for their support during the project’s time on the network.
What the migration means for users
The migration to Robinhood Chain can come with easier access and mainstream adoption for the world’s prediction markets. Retail users already on Robinhood can expect simpler onboarding, seamless fiat integration, and potentially higher liquidity as millions of new participants enter the platform.
However, the transition may involve temporary trading disruptions, mandatory token or position migrations, and adjustments to new network fees and speeds. Power users who valued Solana’s high throughput and rich DeFi ecosystem might face a short-term learning curve. Users should monitor official announcements for migration instructions to avoid any loss of funds or missed opportunities.
World uses Chainlink for prediction markets
Before announcing the migration, World had adopted Chainlink as its primary oracle infrastructure while operating on Solana. According to the platform, users can trade event contracts directly within the Phantom wallet. Initial markets focus on short-duration Bitcoin price movements (up/down) and outcomes related to the 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup.
World also plans rapid expansion into macroeconomic indicators such as interest rates, inflation, GDP, and employment, alongside U.S. and international elections, plus major sports leagues including NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL, tennis, golf, and MMA.
The integration leverages Chainlink Data Streams for low-latency crypto market data and the Chainlink Runtime Environment (CRE) for reliable, deterministic outcome resolution and settlement.
What’s upcoming for users
Further details regarding the exact migration timeline, smart contract deployments, and compensation for any potential disruptions are expected in the coming days.
As the crypto industry matures, moves like this highlight a growing trend: projects prioritizing user accessibility and mainstream distribution channels over pure technical performance. Whether Robinhood Chain can deliver the scalability and decentralization Solana users have come to expect remains to be seen.
For now, World users are advised to stay tuned to official channels for migration guides and security instructions.
