Securitize has launched Securitize Stocks, offering tokenized U.S. stock entitlements on Solana through its registered broker-dealer platform.
According to an announcement published on October 8, eligible investors in the U.S., European Union, and other permitted jurisdictions can access entitlements linked to U.S.-listed stocks. The entitlements are backed 1:1 by underlying shares and structured as security entitlements under UCC Article 8.
The Crypto Times has reached out to Securitize and Solana for comment on the launch and has not received a response at the time of publication.
Solana confirms Securitize stocks launch
Solana separately confirmed the launch in an October 8 post on X.
The Solana account said Securitize Stocks gives eligible investors access to U.S. equities backed by real shares and highlighted the applicable voting rights and dividends associated with the underlying securities.
Solana also said the offering is compatible with the Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) Innovation Exemption framework for Tokenized Securities Venues.
Securitize offers tokenized stock entitlements
The initial offering includes entitlements linked to Apple (AAPL), Microsoft (MSFT), Nvidia (NVDA), Alphabet (GOOG), Tesla (TSLA), Meta (META), Amazon (AMZN), Netflix (NFLX), Circle (CRCL), Strategy (MSTR), Palantir (PLTR), SPCX and other U.S.-listed stocks.
Securitize said the structure preserves applicable rights and economic benefits associated with the underlying securities, including dividends and voting rights where available. Where supported, investors can convert the entitlements into direct ownership recorded on the books of the issuer’s transfer agent.
Trading starts on Solana
The tokens settle in USDC and initially trade through Securitize’s registered broker-dealer platform and its Solana PropAMM. Jump Trading is providing market-making support through the PropAMM.
Trading is initially available during extended hours, while Securitize plans to move toward 24/7 trading.
NYSE and OKXICE trading planned
Securitize also plans to make the stock entitlements available through the New York Stock Exchange’s planned 24/7 digital trading venue, subject to the venue launching and meeting regulatory and operational requirements.
The company also expects Securitize Stocks to trade on the OKXICE Tokenized Securities Venue (TSV), a planned platform being developed through the partnership between OKX and Intercontinental Exchange.
Neither venue is currently available for Securitize Stocks.
Access limited to eligible investors
Securitize Stocks are not available to all users. Access depends on onboarding, KYC and AML checks, jurisdictional eligibility, sanctions requirements and applicable securities laws.
Securitize said secondary trading is offered through its regulated broker-dealer and that the assets are designed to operate within the applicable securities framework. The company also said the assets are designed to be compatible with the SEC’s Innovation Exemption framework for Tokenized Securities Venues.
Ripple Prime also plans to support the launch and explore ways to incorporate the tokenized assets into its institutional trading ecosystem, according to Securitize. However, the announcement did not provide details on when Ripple Prime’s support would become available.
Launch follows earlier Securitize work
The launch follows Securitize’s earlier work on tokenized equities and their trading infrastructure.
In May, Securitize partnered with Jump Trading and Jupiter Exchange to develop regulated onchain trading for tokenized equities on Solana. In June, Backpack Securities launched a brokerage platform designed to let users move between traditional U.S. stocks and tokenized versions on Solana.
Then, in September, Securitize shared insights on the SEC’s five-year Innovation Exemption framework for tokenized stocks. The framework sets conditions for Tokenized Securities Venues, including limits on eligible securities, trading volumes, issuer notification, and other operating requirements.
The current launch adds another tokenized-stock offering to Solana while planned NYSE and OKXICE venues could provide additional trading venues if they meet their respective launch and regulatory requirements.
