Nexo Hires Lorenzo Pellegrino as Chief Banking Officer

Nexo, a digital assets platform, has appointed Lorenzo Pellegrino as its new Chief Banking Officer (CBO). According to the company’s press release, Pellegrino brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in financial technology. He is best known for helping shape the online payments and digital wallet industry during his time as CEO of Skrill and NETELLER.

Pellegrino’s Experience and Career

Over his career, Pellegrino has played a big role in developing trusted financial products used by millions of people worldwide. He also worked at Paysafe Group, a company listed on the New York Stock Exchange, where he focused on building reliable payment tools. He also helped the company expand into the fast-growing markets and ensured that new products followed global regulations.

Plans for Nexo’s Growth

At Nexo, Pellegrino will lead the company’s efforts to expand its infrastructure. This includes improving its digital asset accounts, so it can build faster and easier ways for customers to move money in and out of the platform. One of his main projects will be leading the global rollout of the Nexo Card.

According to Nexo, this card is designed to give users more ways to spend and benefit from their digital assets in everyday life.

Speaking about his new role, Pellegrino said: “After decades in the payments and digital wallet space, I’ve seen firsthand how difficult it is to bridge convenience with compliance, speed with stability. What Nexo is doing — unifying digital assets with real-world financial utility — is exactly the kind of challenge I thrive on.”

In addition to his operational role, Pellegrino will also serve as a public voice for Nexo. He will take part in global discussions on how traditional finance and cryptocurrency can work together.

He will speak on topics such as cross-border banking and the tools needed to build the next generation of wealth services.
