U.S. President Donald Trump has officially inaugurated a new golf course called Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeen, Scotland, with the Nexo Championship, which will take place from August 7 to 10.
According to the Nexo announcement on July 29, Nexo co-founders Antoni Trenchev and Kosta Kantchev, First Minister of Scotland John Swinney, and a few other representatives from politics, business, and sports have attended the event.
The event highlighted the old golf traditions with new ideas. After the opening ceremony, Donald Trump joined the Nexo co-founders for lunch. They discussed new inventions, the future of sports, and how digital money is growing.
Further, Antoni Trenchev stated in his X post that, “Having lunch with the President, after a day of golfing, discussing politics and our joint vision for crypto in the US, was an honor without compare! Thank you sincerely for what you are doing for all of us.”
The Nexo championship comes after Donald Trump Jr. visited Bulgaria on 28 April 2025, hosted by Nexo. During that visit, Nexo said that it is coming back to the U.S., showing its growth worldwide. Nexo has partnered with six major DP World Tour golf events in 2025, including the Nexo Championship and the Genesis Scottish Open.
