Cardano Midnight Glacier Airdrop Expected to Start Next Week

The Midnight Glacier airdrop is expected to begin its claim phase next week. This will be between July 16th and July 26th, but the exact date will be determined when the technical team is ready to initiate the NIGHT token distribution.

The snapshot was recently completed on June 24, with Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson announcing it on X (formerly Twitter).

Over 37 million wallets that have major cryptos such as Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Ripple’s XRP, Solana (SOL), Binance Coin (BNB), Cardano (ADA), Basic Attention Token (BAT), and Avalanche (AVAX) will receive free NIGHT and DUST tokens.

As per the prior report, the claiming period will be open for 60 days from the launch date, so the users have plenty of time to claim their tokens.

After the claim period ends, there will be a 30-day “Scavenger Mine” period. Here, users who missed the claim can still mine remaining tokens by performing easy computer tasks.

In addition, Midnight has launched a four-year “Lost-and-Found” window. That is, users who fail to claim their tokens within the official rounds are able to reclaim some of them up to four years from the date of the airdrop.

Moreover, the  NIGHT tokens will not be given out all at once. Instead, they will be released in four random drops spread over a full year. This slow release, called the “Glacier Drop,” helps keep the token’s price stable and prevents sudden drops caused by many people selling at once.

This process also guards against fake claims and bots. It also aims to solve issues that have affected most airdrops in the past. Those who hold the NIGHT token will be able to vote on how the Midnight Network is run.
