Hacken Bridge Hacked, 900M HAI Minted via Stolen Private Key

Hacken, a well-known Web3 security auditor, has recently faced a big security breach. This breach has affected their HAI token on the Ethereum and BNB Chain networks. This has let the hacker create 900 million HAI tokens.

So far, the hacker has traded about $253,000 worth of these tokens, but they could not do more because of the low liquidity.

🚨ALERT🚨Today, @hackenclub appears to have suffered a security breach across $BNB and $ETH networks. The deployer wallet of the $HAI token seems to be compromised, allowing the attacker to transfer funds. Root cause seems to be private key linked to the bridge deployment.

The firm confirmed the hack on Twitter. The firm has stated that, “We are investigating a security incident involving the unauthorized minting of HAI tokens on Ethereum and BNB Chain, caused by a compromised private key linked to the bridge deployment.”

The problem was caused by a compromised private key linked to the bridge deployment. Because of this, Hacken has stopped its bridges between Ethereum-VET and BSC-VET for now and told HAI owners on those networks not to move their tokens until things are fixed.

Hacken is now trying to resolve the problem and regain trust. This incident shows how risky it can be to manage private keys in the world of decentralized finance (DeFi).

Since it happened today, the firm has promised to keep everyone updated through their official accounts as they figure things out. This event is a big warning alarm about the difficulties of keeping digital assets safe, especially as more people use decentralized finance (DeFi) around the world.
