Trump’s memecoin (TRUMP) is on fire, up nearly 12% in the last 24 hours, now trading at $14.25. Its market cap has hit $2.85 billion, and trading volume has exploded to $1.83 billion, thanks to all the buzz around Trump’s upcoming Trump Dinner.

The sudden pump comes right before Trump’s much-hyped Gala Dinner, where top holders of the coin are set to meet him in person. Naturally, the buzz is sending the coin flying.
The event, scheduled for May 22 at the Trump National Golf Club in Potomac Falls, Virginia, is a reward promised last month to the coin’s top holders. Back in April, Trump had announced that the top 220 $TRUMP holders would be invited to an in-person gathering. Now, that promise is about to become reality.
According to an email sent to invitees, the dinner kicks off with arrivals from 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m., which could run as late as 10 p.m. The evening calls for formal attire, and all guests are required to complete a background check before attending.
The identities of most top holders remain pseudonymous, but some have publicly confirmed their attendance. Justin Sun, founder of the Tron blockchain and self-declared billionaire, is among them. “As the top holder of $TRUMP, I’m excited to connect with everyone, talk crypto, and discuss the future of our industry,” Sun shared on X.
An email promoting the event described it as “a once-in-a-lifetime memorable evening with the 47th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump.”
With sentiment running high and volume soaring, TRUMP continues to prove how real-world events—and real names—can fuel memecoin momentum.
Talk of a possible selloff ahead of Thursday’s exclusive dinner with Donald Trump has been swirling for weeks, but the TRUMP memecoin isn’t showing any signs of weakness. Some big holders have been cashing out, while others have been quietly loading up, creating a tense and unpredictable atmosphere. Many expected the hype around the event to trigger a classic “sell the news” dip, where the price drops once the buzz fades. But for now, that scenario hasn’t materialized.
