Gram (GRAM) climbed 8.7% on Friday, October 9, 2026, as Telegram expanded access to its Money wallet to more users across its messaging platform.
According to CoinGecko data at 18:25 UTC on October 9 , the token climbed from an intraday low of around $1.35 to $1.47 after briefly trading above $1.50, as the wallet rollout brought fresh attention to Telegram’s crypto services.
The increase in price pushed Gram’s market capitalization to approximately $4.146 billion, while its 24-hour trading volume reached $85.318 million.

Telegram Makes Its Wallet Available to More Users
According to Walt’s post on X, Telegram is opening its Money wallet to users who previously did not have access to it.
The wallet is reportedly built for Gram and allows users to store and send the token. Users can also use it to buy digital gifts and collectible usernames on Telegram.
“It used to be available to only some @telegram users. Now the wallet is called Money, and Telegram is rolling it out widely inside the messenger to its audience of over a billion people,” Walt said on X.
Money is a non-custodial wallet, meaning users keep control of their crypto assets instead of handing them over to a third party to manage. The service brings Gram payments closer to Telegram users, who can access the wallet within the messaging platform.
The rollout follows an earlier announcement by Telegram CEO Pavel Durov. In a Telegram post, Durov said the wallet would be gradually introduced to the platform’s billion-plus users over the following weeks.
The wider rollout is now putting that plan into action. However, the supplied information does not confirm that every Telegram user already has access to the wallet.
Walt Will Handle Trading and Investments
Telegram is also changing how users access its other crypto services. Its existing Wallet in Telegram service is being renamed Walt, with a stronger focus on trading and investments. Money, meanwhile, will handle Gram payments and transfers.
According to Walt’s announcement, the service supports more than 300 assets, including cryptocurrencies, tokenized stocks and metals. It also offers perpetual contracts and Earn programs.
The two services serve different purposes. Someone who wants to send Gram or buy a digital gift can use Money, while someone looking to trade crypto or other supported assets can use Walt.
Users Can Transfer Funds Without Network Fees
Users can also transfer funds from Walt to Money in a few taps. Walt said these transfers are instant and come with zero network fees. The Money section appears after a user receives a transfer, according to the announcement.
This setup connects Telegram’s payment and trading services, allowing users to move funds between the two wallets without leaving the app.
Gram’s Rebrand Came Before the Wallet Expansion
The rollout follows the June 2026 rebrand of Toncoin (TON) to Gram (GRAM). The proposal reportedly received 81.22% support in a community vote and took effect on June 15, 2026. The blockchain kept its name, The Open Network (TON), while the token’s name and ticker changed.
The rebrand returned the token to the Gram name originally proposed in Telegram’s 2018 blockchain whitepaper. Existing balances and blockchain assets continued working without requiring holders to swap or move their tokens.
According to data from CoinGecko, the token’s fully diluted valuation currently sits at approximately $7.729 billion, with 2.823 billion tokens in circulation and a total supply of 5.263 billion. Perpetual futures open interest reached around $228.257 million.
