Bitcoin and Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded nearly $317 million in combined net outflows on Thursday, October 8, 2026, as investors pulled money from U.S.-listed crypto funds.
According to data from SosoValue as at 17:38 UTC on Friday October 9, Bitcoin ETFs lost $244.13 million, while Ethereum ETFs recorded $72.54 million in withdrawals, extending their losing streak to eight straight trading sessions.
These withdrawals came after another heavy day of selling on October 7, when Bitcoin ETFs lost $484.9 million and Ethereum funds recorded $160.9 million in outflows. Together, the two groups lost about $964.5 million over two trading days.
Fidelity leads Bitcoin ETF outflows
Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) recorded the largest withdrawal among Bitcoin ETFs on Thursday, losing $197.09 million. This made up about 81% of the total net outflows from the funds that day.

ARK Invest and 21Shares’ ARKB lost $20.29 million, while Bitwise’s BITB recorded $17.71 million in withdrawals. Grayscale’s GBTC also lost $8.20 million.
BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) recorded smaller outflows of $5.54 million, compared with the $207.7 million it lost on October 7. Meanwhile, Franklin Templeton’s EZBC attracted $4.71 million, making it the only Bitcoin fund among those listed to record positive net flows.
Meanwhile, Bitcoin ETF trading activity reached $3.81 billion, while the funds’ combined net assets fell to $104.91 billion.
Ethereum outflows continue for eight days
Ethereum ETFs also faced another day of withdrawals, extending their outflow streak to eight consecutive trading sessions. BlackRock’s ETHA accounted for most of Thursday’s reported withdrawals, losing $71.12 million.

Grayscale’s ETHE recorded $6.12 million in outflows, while 21Shares’ TETH lost $1.2 million and VanEck’s ETHV shed $900,000.
However, not every fund saw investors pull their money out. Fidelity’s FETH attracted $5.50 million, while Morgan Stanley’s MSSE gained $1.32 million. Data from SosoValue also show that trading activity across Ethereum ETFs reached $1.92 billion, while their combined net assets fell to $15.64 billion.
Some other funds also faced withdrawals
The withdrawals also spread to other crypto investment products. Solana ETFs recorded about $3.3 million in net outflows for a fourth straight day. Bitwise’s BSOL lost $5.26 million, while Morgan Stanley’s MSOL attracted $1.8 million, partly offsetting the withdrawals, according to data from SosoValue.
Zcash ETFs lost $18.66 million, while HYPE ETFs recorded $9.70 million in outflows. However, some funds still attracted fresh money.
XRP ETFs gained $8.17 million, all of which went into Franklin Templeton’s XRPZ. Bitwise’s NEAR ETF also attracted $4.04 million.
It’s important to note that these ETF outflows do not automatically mean investors are abandoning crypto. They show that more money left these funds than entered them during the reported period.
