In a surprising late-night post on X, Elon Musk tweeted “sup @gork changed my pp to urs wdyt” and updated his profile picture to match that of the Solana-based memecoin Gork. The move caused an instant stir in the crypto world.
Soon after Musk’s post, Gork saw a massive price surge of over 70%, briefly pushing its value to $0.06564. As of the latest data, the token is up 43.29% in the last 24 hours, with a market cap sitting around $65.64 million. Daily trading volume reached over $200 million, though it’s down slightly by 1.13%.

However, the hype didn’t stop there.
Within hours of Musk’s tweet, numerous fake or parody memecoins using the Gork name began popping up on pump.fun, a platform known for fast-moving meme coin launches.
Most of these knock-offs had tiny market caps, some as low as $4,000, and were created in the 12 hours following the viral tweet.
Two of these copycat coins stood out for having slightly higher market caps:
- Gork Musk (GM) – Created 21 minutes ago, market cap: $45,195
- Gorilla On Retarded Kangaroo (GORK) – Created about an hour ago, market cap: $5,374
Despite their funny names and small size, these coins have been gaining attention simply by riding on the viral wave sparked by Musk.
As always, traders are urged to tread carefully. The memecoin market moves fast, and not every new coin with a trendy name has staying power or legitimacy.
