Musk & Trump at Bitcoin 2024 Nashville? A match made in crypto!

Ahead of the highly anticipated Bitcoin 2024 Nashville event, the crypto community is buzzing with excitement over speculations that tech mogul Elon Musk might share a stage with Donald Trump at the venue, unannounced.

Musk’s recent arrival in Tennessee on July 21 has further intensified the rumors. The intrigue deepened after Musk updated his profile picture on X with “laser eyes”—a popular meme within the crypto community symbolizing a bullish sentiment on Bitcoin.

Trump is scheduled to speak at the Bitcoin 2024 Nashville event on July 27 and after the recent assassination attempt on him, Musk has openly supported his candidature for presidency in the upcoming U.S. presidential elections.

While Musk is not a listed speaker at Bitcoin 2024 Nashville event, crypto fans might be in for a wild surprise on July 27!

Another speculation regarding Trump announcing the establishment of a ‘Bitcoin strategic reserve’ during the Nashville event has also become viral, of late.

Adding fuel to the fire, VanEck’s Head of Digital Assets Research, Matthew Sigel, shared a provocative statement:

“In six days President Trump, running temporarily unopposed, will speak at The Bitcoin Conference in Nashville. Many are speculating he will propose establishing a US Strategic #bitcoin reserve. Trump praised Elon Musk at his rally last night. Now Musk has laser eyes. See you there.”

Sigel’s comment has amplified discussions about Musk’s potential appearance at the event. The prospect of both Musk and Trump attending the conference is expected to generate massive online buzz.

David Bailey, CEO of Bitcoin Magazine, intensified the speculation by sharing a snapshot of Musk’s laser eyes profile picture with the caption, “Are you ready?” hinting at a significant announcement at the conference.

Bailey’s earlier tweet, “I want to apologize in advance for breaking the internet,” had already sent shockwaves through the crypto community. Fox journalist Eleanor Terrett further fueled the excitement by suggesting that Musk’s attendance could be the major surprise hinted at by Bailey.

She highlighted Musk’s friendship with Trump and his affinity for Bitcoin: “If this is a teaser for another big guest announcement, I feel like the only person bigger than Trump that could break the internet at this point is Elon Musk.”

Terrett emphasized that her comments were speculative, not based on insider knowledge. Adding another layer to the mystery, Musk mentioned that “Grok is being trained in Memphis,” implying his presence in Tennessee might be related to this project. However, the timing and proximity to Nashville suggest that he could easily attend the Bitcoin Conference.

Michael Saylor, founder of MicroStrategy, remarked, “Laser Eyes are back in style,” alongside a screenshot of Musk’s profile picture. Crypto analyst Scott Melker speculated on X, “Musk changes profile pic to laser eyes, CEO of Bitcoin Magazine says ‘are you ready.’ If this means what I think it does then this week is about to get even wilder.”

Dennis Porter, CEO of the Satoshi Action Fund, claimed that Trump would announce a U.S. Bitcoin strategic reserve in Nashville, citing anonymous sources. Simon Dixon, founder of BnkToTheFuture, confirmed increasing speculation about these rumors.

Ari Paul, CIO at BlockTower Capital, put the odds of the U.S. creating a Bitcoin strategic reserve in the next four years at 10 to 1. He noted that if Wall Street believed it would happen, it would trigger an “instant moon” for Bitcoin prices—a popular meme indicating a rapid price surge.

Bitcoin, which has surged 20% since early July, has seen renewed interest. Shark Tank billionaire Mark Cuban’s “crazy” Bitcoin price prediction has also contributed to the rally. Markus Thielen, CEO of 10x Research, suggested that Trump might propose a U.S. Bitcoin strategic reserve during his much-hyped appearance at the conference.

Thielen pointed out that the U.S. government currently holds around 212,000 BTC, worth approximately $15 billion, compared to its $600 billion in gold reserves.

As the crypto world eagerly awaits the Bitcoin Conference 2024, the potential appearances of Musk and Trump and the prospect of a U.S. Bitcoin strategic reserve have created unprecedented excitement and speculation.
