In honor of Slurpee Day on July 11, global convenience store franchise 7-Eleven on its 96th birthday is introducing an exciting treat for fans – free Slurpee NFTs on the Polygon network. The initiative aims to engage customers through innovative digital experiences.
Marissa Jarratt, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing & Sustainability Officer of 7-Eleven, expressed enthusiasm about celebrating with customers on this special day. She stated, “We’re always looking for new and creative ways to celebrate with our customers on our favorite day of the year.”
Accessible exclusively through mobile devices, the interactive game allows participants to design their ideal Slurpee cup virtually. Four mouthwatering flavors – Cherry, Blue Raspberry, Pina Colada, and Summertime Citrus – are available for mixing and matching, offering the chance to create a personalized Slurpee masterpiece.
Jarratt hinted at the possibility of these fan creations inspiring future real-life flavors, adding, “Maybe you’ll even give us some inspiration for future flavors.”
Once the cup is filled to the brim with chosen flavors, collectors are presented with a choice on the next screen. They can either claim their “Slurpee Vibe Digital Collectible” or start the process anew by returning to the previous screen.
Collectors satisfied with their creation can proceed to claim their digital collectible by selecting “claim now.” The subsequent screen prompts them to provide their name, email address, and telephone number. A six-digit code will be sent via email to enable the collector to claim their exclusive Slurpee NFT.
To ensure secure ownership, a digital collectible wallet on the Polygon blockchain will be created for each collector, safeguarding their Slurpee token. In the Slurpee app the term “digital collectible” is used instead of “NFT”. However, it is important to note that the 7-Eleven Slurpee NFTs are merely licensed to the collector and cannot be stored, transferred, sold, or transferred to third parties, as stated in the app’s terms of service.
