Hacked Twitter Account Of Indian State Governor Promotes Xrp

Madhya Pradesh Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel’s Twitter account is the latest victim of a hack event where the scammers used his account to promote an XRP scam.

The official Twitter account of the Governor of Madhya Pradesh replied to various tweets claiming Brad Garlinghouse, the CEO of Ripple Labs, initiated an XRP airdrop.

The XRP cryptocurrency is “ready to huge PUMP,” stated these replies by the hackers on the Governor’s account.

The account is yet to be restored, so Twitter users should be aware of any unusual activity and refrain from clicking links.

This is not the first time a politician’s Twitter account has become a target for crypto scammers. In December 2021, the Indian Prime Minister’s Twitter account was hacked to attempt a BTC giveaway scam. However, the Prime Minister’s office confirmed in a tweet that the account with the handle @narendramodi had been restored since the short incident with the hacker tweets now deleted.
