In yet another $200 million token bridge Nomad hack recovery update, so far, approximately $32 million, or 16% of the stolen funds, have been returned to the protocol via 86 wallet addresses.
In an appeal to “white hat hackers and ethical researcher friends who have been safeguarding ETH/ERC-20 tokens,” Nomad created a recovery wallet address. Peckshiled, a blockchain analyst firm, then revealed the identification of a $9 million fund that returned to the address.
The hack, which involved over 300 addresses and took nearly $200 million from Nomad’s cross-chain bridge, was said to exploit a critical vulnerability that became public, allowing funds to be drained.
The team announced that anyone who returned the tokens to the Nomad recovery wallet address would receive a 10% bounty and that no legal action would be taken against those who did so.
