Cardano’s ADA traded at approximately $0.2216 as of 08:07 UTC on October 15, down 5.88% over 24 hours, according to CoinMarketCap data. The token had traded near $0.235 earlier in the period before moving lower. Its market capitalization stood at approximately $8.15 billion, placing it around 15th by market value.
Trading activity rose during the decline. ADA’s reported 24-hour trading volume increased 52.62% to approximately $527.32 million, equivalent to about 6.47% of its market capitalization. Higher volume alongside a falling price indicates heightened activity during the move, but does not independently establish whether the selling was driven by conviction, liquidations or other factors. ADA’s fully diluted valuation stood at approximately $9.97 billion. Around 36.8 billion ADA were in circulation, against a total supply of approximately 44.99 billion and a maximum supply of 45 billion.

Why ADA Is Lower
The decline came as markets assessed September’s US inflation report, which added to uncertainty over the Federal Reserve’s interest-rate outlook. The US Bureau of Labor Statistics reported on October 14 that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 0.6% month over month in September. Annual headline inflation accelerated to 3.7% from 3.4%, above the 3.6% forecast, while core CPI rose 0.3% month over month, exceeding the 0.2% increase economists had expected. Annual core inflation reached 2.6%, and gasoline prices rose 9.1% during September, accounting for more than half of the monthly increase in the overall index, the report said.
Persistent inflation can complicate the Federal Reserve’s decisions on interest rates. If markets expect borrowing costs to remain elevated, risk-sensitive assets such as cryptocurrencies may face pressure as investors reassess liquidity conditions and their appetite for volatility.
Investors were also looking ahead to the Fed’s next policy meeting, scheduled for October 27–28, according to the Federal Reserve’s official calendar. The meeting could offer further guidance on how policymakers assess inflation and the economic outlook.
Keeping the Move in Perspective
Thursday’s decline is a single session and does not, on its own, mark a structural break in ADA’s longer-term trend. The token slipped from about $0.235 to the low-$0.22 range over the day, and a sustained recovery would require it to reclaim that lost ground. The Crypto Times does not forecast ADA’s future price.
